Taketomi Island is an extremely serene island, and the water buffalo cart experience is very special. I highly recommend spending a whole day on Taketomi Island to thoroughly explore all the island's attractions. The beaches are stunning (unfortunately, we didn't have enough time to fully explore them).
Everything was perfect except for the lack of a Korean 안내지도 (information map) when taking the ferry from the dock and the expensive prices on Taketomi Island ^^. It would be nice if bicycle rentals were added. Bicycle rental for adults was 2200 yen. The return time was until 4:30 pm, and it was nice to ride a bicycle.
This was a very special water buffalo cart ride. The buffalo was incredibly strong and could pull 20 people, which made for a unique experience. It wasn't clearly stated that we needed to exchange our tickets for boat passes first, and I hope this can be improved in the future.
Taketomi Island ferry ticket plus water buffalo cart tour. Because the tour is entirely in Japanese, it's hard to understand. Besides the water buffalo carts, there's not much else to see on Taketomi Island. If the weather is good, you can go to the beach and enjoy the ocean view.
Niu Niu is very cute, taking small steps while carrying a group of people to admire the island scenery. The tour guide's enthusiastic explanation, combined with the live sanshin performance, made for a wonderful trip.

The entire trip went very smoothly! The signs were very clear, and the staff were all very friendly. They also told us how to catch the return boat/buffalo cart. Even with a language barrier, the buffalo cart tour allowed us to experience the local culture!
While most of the people at this location don't speak English or Korean, it might be a bit inconvenient if you don't know Japanese. However, it was nice to be able to ride a water buffalo cart and listen to music from the local guide while touring Taketomi. Just a heads up, the Euglena Ferry Terminal staff didn't speak English, so there was a bit of difficulty exchanging the coupon.
The water buffalo cart ride accompanied by the sound of the sanshin was so relaxing 😌. The island scenery and the ocean were beautiful, and the soba noodles were delicious. I highly recommend island hopping!
The Yaeyama Kanko Ferry counter is large and easy for foreign tourists to find. The staff provided clear explanations during the ticket exchange process. Although the ferry ticket from Ishigaki Island to Taketomi Island was for the 10:30 AM departure, it wasn't possible to make flexible adjustments even if we arrived early. However, arriving early allowed us to explore the surrounding area and find a parking spot in advance for those driving.
