Malacca Pink Mosque & Straits Mosque Full-Day Tour

My wife and I took a private tour. The tour was in English or Chinese, and Japanese was not spoken, but my wife speaks Chinese, so we had no trouble communicating. Even if we didn't understand the direct conversation, the guide translated explanations of each tourist spot via LINE, so we quickly understood what each place was like. However, the frequent reception consumed a lot of phone battery, so a mobile battery might be essential (we were told to bring one the day before, but it was used up more quickly than expected. Even with an iPhone 17 Pro, the battery would likely drop from 100% to less than 20% without a mobile battery). It was just bad luck on our part, but our visit coincided with the Islamic pilgrimage season, so we couldn't enter the Pink Mosque (we could enter the Sea Mosque). Viewing from the outside is fine, but if you want to go inside the mosque, I recommend being mindful of the timing. As for the guide itself, we weren't rushed and were generally able to tour with a satisfactory time allocation. They waited for us for a long time at places we wanted to see. We were scheduled to arrive at the hotel at 10 PM, but we ended up arriving around 11 PM. They didn't show any displeasure, which made us feel a bit apologetic. Regarding cost performance, since they don't offer Japanese-speaking guides, it's considerably cheaper than tours on other sites, and I think it's a good option if you can tolerate the communication barrier. However, if you can communicate, it would be even more enjoyable. We had private conversations with the guide and heard stories about their favorite childhood candy characters. Our guide, Patrick, was incredibly attentive to us from start to finish. He picked us up with plenty of time to spare and even made sure we got back safely, despite it being late at night. We are very grateful. Even though our English was poor, he never gave up and explained everything to us patiently and thoroughly. He also sent us many photos and explanations via LINE. We truly experienced Malaysia and Malacca in a way that isn't possible just from the internet, and we had a wonderful day. The activities were rich, experiencing the cityscapes of Putrajaya and Malacca. The architecture and geographical locations of the Putrajaya Pink Mosque and the Malacca Straits Mosque are worth visiting again. Jonker Street preserves many Chinese cultures and cuisines. If you have enough time, you can take a sightseeing boat to cruise the Malacca River. Finally, I highly recommend the tour guide's professional explanations to learn more about the history of Zheng He's voyages to the West.

Overall the tour was comprehensive, tour guide, Jeff, is knowledgeable, patient and punctual, he introduced us much history of Malaysia of different spots we went, and proactively took number of good pictures for us, and of course, always punctual, recommended👍🏽

Patrick was our driver and guide for the day. Given there was no other people, it became a private tour for us. Patrick was really detailed and took so many pictures. He ensured we visited a lot of places. We chose not to go any recommended restaurants but he will give you options. We chose some free time in Malacca rather. Franly Putrajaya doesn’t have much but Malacca is beautiful.

Thank you to our driver and guide Melvin for taking the three of us on a day trip to Putrajaya and Malacca. 😊 It rained heavily when we arrived at the Pink Mosque at noon, and Melvin thoughtfully suggested that we go inside to visit first, and then he would bring us back to Putrajaya to take night photos on the way back. 👍🏻 In the afternoon, we were hungry, and Melvin suggested a delicious cake shop for the three of us to have coffee and cake 🍰☕️😊. Malacca is beautiful at night, with enough time to walk around Jonker Street Night Market and have dinner. There were several long drives, and our driver and guide Melvin drove steadily and safely. Michelle is the absolute best! Thanks to her reassuring guidance, we had the most wonderful time in Malaysia! ​My husband and I barely speak any English, but she tried her best to explain everything in very simple, easy-to-understand English. On top of that, she was available on LINE, and used LINE's translation feature to explain the sights in great detail, so even Japanese travelers who can't speak English can enjoy sightseeing without any worries at all! ​She was super punctual with timing, taught us a lot about Malaysian culture, and even recommended a great, top-rated restaurant for the Nyonya cuisine we really wanted to try in Malacca. This day trip to Malacca was far more exciting and profound than I had imagined. This ancient city, a UNESCO World Heritage site, is full of stories everywhere you look. From the colonial charm of the Dutch Red Square and St. Paul's Hill to the quaint Jonker Street, it felt like every step was a journey through time. However, the luckiest part of this trip was meeting our driver and guide, Mr. Koike. * **Local Food Expert:** He helped us perfectly avoid tourist traps and led us to the most authentic local delicacies. * **Attentive Service:** He meticulously attended to the needs of every group member throughout the journey, managing our time perfectly without any feeling of being rushed.
