What to expect
Sea breeze, grasslands, and volcanic landscapes strung together in a line, this is a light-paced yet visually rich, healing one-day trip to the Izu Peninsula 🌊⛰️.
- The itinerary begins on the Atami Sunshine Beach Road. A short 6.1 kilometers, yet it feels like a stretched-out movie scene. Outside the car window, Sagami Bay sparkles under the sun, the sea and sky merge into one, and the distant Hatsushima and Izu Oshima islands are faintly visible.
- Next, ascend Mount Omuro, which resembles a matcha pudding (If the cable car is suspended due to bad weather; the Mount Omuro cable car is under maintenance from June 15th to June 25th, then proceed to Ito Cactus Park) 🍵. As the cable car slowly ascends, the view gradually opens up. After reaching the summit, stroll along the circular path, and a 360° panoramic view unfolds: the silhouette of Mount Fuji, the blue of Sagami Bay, and the lines of the Izu Islands, all quietly laid out before your eyes.
- Afterwards, arrive at Jogasaki Coast, where the scenery shifts from gentle to breathtaking. Volcanic lava-formed cliffs plunge directly into the sea, waves crash against the rocks, creating a strong and powerful rhythm. Walk onto the Kadowaki Suspension Bridge, with surging waves beneath your feet and the whistling sea breeze in your ears, and any casual shot becomes an adventurous picture 📸.
- Finally, conclude the trip in Ito Marine Town. Sea views, restaurants, souvenirs, and hot springs gather together, allowing people to relax slowly while watching the sea, leaving a leisurely aftertaste for this journey.
* On this day, from the gentle coast to the volcanic secret realm, and then back to the lively seaside town, Izu, in the most comfortable way, made people remember the appearance of the sea and the wind.

Stunning Coastal Escape! 🏔️🌊 A perfect day trip that balances mountain views and ocean breezes. Mt. Omuro is the star—the chairlift ride up is fun, and the 360-degree views of Mt. Fuji and the islands from the crater rim are unforgettable. Mt. Omuro: Unique volcanic scenery; the easy walk around the summit is a must. Jogasaki Coast: Dramatic cliffs and a thrilling suspension bridge. Atami/Ito: Charming coastal vibes and great spots for local seafood. Highly recommend for anyone wanting to see Japan's natural beauty beyond the city!
This is a less chosen destination, but Izu Peninsula is a really worthwhile visit. I could imagine Mt. Omuro will be more beautiful in spring and summer when its grass is green! Our guide Olivia made things extra special with her kindness, helpfulness, and extraordinary language skills. Til next time!
Yoyo was our Tour Guide. We enjoyed the Scenary and fresh air. Unfortunately it was a long weekend so many locals also visited the Sites like Omuro and traffic was heavy to Omuro/ Ito City and back to Shinjuku. In general Yoko handled the situation and reminded tourist to be on time and assisted in making the tour experience smooth. Our Driver was an experienced Chinese man who knew the roads pretty well. He took short cuts to skip some roads with heavy traffic so we can get back to Shinjuku sooner than later. Thank you
KO was our tour guide. He started off a little cold in the early morning but he turned out to be a great guy. We were able to do everything that the itinerary offered. We had a blast. Thank you for the great experience. Just smile KO! (:
What a fantastic tour today! It was absolutely picture perfect. Our wonderful guide, Ko, made the experience even better with full explanations and fascinating information about Mt. Omuro and the Jogasaki Coast. It was truly spectacular. The highlight of the day was taking the cable car up Mt. Omuro, followed by the breathtaking walk around the crater. This is truly a must see and having Ko as your guide makes it even more special. Thank you ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This small group tour had only 9 tourists. Our driver and guide, Mr. Zhao, was a Tianjin native living in Japan. He was very talkative, enthusiastic, and had a great sense of humor. Along the way, he not only introduced the sights we passed but also shared interesting stories about his life in Japan. At each attraction, he would explain important information, extend our sightseeing time, and even took us to convenience stores to buy snacks. Driving for over 6 hours round trip was truly hard work! This trip was perfect; the scenery was beautiful, and the weather was great. Overall, it was a very enjoyable experience!
I'm very satisfied with this trip; I finally made it to Izu, a place I've longed to visit. Our tour guide, Olivia (Chen), was very enthusiastic, provided great introductions, and even helped us take souvenir photos. We were also very lucky that day to successfully take the cable car up Mount Omuro. It was breathtaking; we could see Mount Fuji in the distance and overlook the town at the foot of the mountain. The wind at Jogasaki Coast was incredibly strong, letting us feel the power of the Pacific sea breeze. An unexpected surprise... it was cherry blossom season, and on the way to Jogasaki Coast, we encountered a cherry blossom tunnel, which was absolutely stunning.
Splendid time with our guide Ko san guiding and explaining on the tourist attraction. The trip was perfect even though the traffic back from Atamo was horrendous.
Our tour guide Carter Sasaki is very energetic and a cool guy! It’s my first time to go on a solo trip and he helped me a lot! He even took photos of me! Thank you so much! Highly recommended!
The Tour was very nice. Not too long not too short, well organized, many informations. Unfortunately the ropeway to the Matcha mountain was closed, so we went to another ropeway instead of the zoo. Which is thanks to our tourguide Ko San. I'm so happy we could do a smaller ropeway instead. Nobody really wanted to go to the zoo so he found an alternative quickly. He informed us about all sights, what to do and what happens next. We got dropped off and he always pointed out where, when to meet and where to find the toilet. A super nice and great tour guide! I can recommend this tour to anyone who wants to see more than Tokyo. Special thanks to Ko San for this great trip! I really enjoyed myself!
