Must do experience!! We learned about the history & culture, where and how matcha is grown, different types of matcha and how to mix our own matcha!! Deserts were amazing!!! Great support from staff, very engaging with each participant!!
Awesome experience!! Fuji-san was a great teacher and I thoroughly enjoyed matcha making. I also loved and appreciated the educational segment she included to teach about matcha and the culture. Now I know how to make matcha and also its cultural history and origins. The sweet treats included with the class were also tasty! I highly recommend this class location if you’re looking for a matcha making class!! TIP (location): They send a confirmation email with an address and 10second YouTube video on how to find their class location. If you watch the quick clip you shouldn’t get lost.
Honestly, I signed up because I had some free time during my trip and thought, "Why not give it a try?" But it was so much fun, especially since the instructor spoke Korean so well, which made the class even more enjoyable!!! If you like matcha, you should definitely take this class!!!! Same-day reservations might be possible(?), so if you happen to have some spare time, be sure to try it! Highly recommended. (FYI, you can sign up alone too)
Loved loved loved our experience! The matcha was delicious and Momo was an amazing teacher!
It was a great experience. Fuko was excellent—she explained everything about matcha making and its history. I always thought matcha tasted bitter, but this one was of very high quality and had a smooth, rich flavor. We prepared traditional matcha without sugar or milk. We also learned that matcha is traditionally served in a chawan (a tea bowl) rather than a cup. Rating: 10/10. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Osaka!
Host was polite, patient and smiling, great experience for the buck, host provided high grade matcha paired with delicious japanese sweets. Matcha making class was just small group unlike the chopsticks making was very large group. But I would try chopsticks making class next time.
Have tried Matcha in the past, didn’t like it much. The family wanted to try it. Took the Matcha making class from a very knowledgeable and kind matcha expert. It turns out I was using the wrong matcha and doing it wrong.
The instruction was very patient and kind. The teaching was intentional and provided insight into the origin of matcha, as well as methods to recreate it at home. It was a lot of fun! Instructor: Shota Safety: Excellent Equipment: Good Location: Good
Serin, Shun have been such great hosts! We booked this matcha-making experience last minute, a day before we left the country, and we do not regret doing it. This is a great way to close our Japan trip this year. The hosts were super friendly, and even the other customers who did the experience with us were great. They shared things about their religion and their country. The experience was amazing. I will definitely recommend it to friends and family visiting Osaka.
Had a wonderful time learning the history and process of making matcha. Shota was super informative and professional! The matcha was delicious and so were the sweets :)
