Sumi-e (Ink Painting) Experience in green tea shop, Tsukiji, Tokyo

we had the best time learning calligraphy with our teacher and translator! they were encouraging and kind. we learned a lot about the history of different fonts as well. beautiful location and building too! they took pictures throughout the experience and sent them to us after as well. would recommend highly!

We had a great time learning how to paint a set of coasters! The instructors were very kind and patient as we learned the basics of painting with different brush strokes and techniques. It was quite a unique experience during our trip to Tokyo!

The workshop itself was fun and interesting as they provide clear and detailed teachings on the painting style. The tea provided caught me by surprise as it is fresh from Shizouka and brewed on the spot. Learning basic japanese and conversation is highly recommended to enjoy friendly conversations with the staff and the workshop instructor

The teacher was very encouraging and patient and went through the steps of each part of the painting and the techniques required. She spoke limited English but had translations in writing to explain the painting techniques.

A calm and relaxing experience with Momo, she explains the process and shows you how to create beautiful paintings for your own. We highly recommend this class! We will take her class again when we visit Japan next year.
