What to expect
【Zao Fox Village】 Zao Fox Village is a fox-themed zoo located on Mount Zao in the northwest of Shiroishi City. It houses over 100 foxes of about 6 species, including the familiar Hokkaido fox, as well as rare species such as silver foxes, blue foxes, platinum foxes, shadow foxes, and cross foxes. 【Ginzan Onsen】 Ginzan Onsen is said to be the filming location for Hayao Miyazaki’s animated film “Spirited Away.” The banks of this hot spring town are lined with wooden ryokans (traditional Japanese inns) built from the Taisho era to the early Showa era. The thick snow on the roads and the gas lamps reflecting on the river at dusk make it feel as if you’ve stepped into an anime. It’s a must-visit winter wonderland in Japan! 【Zao Chuo Ropeway for Snow Scenery】 Since it’s impossible to take the ropeway up the mountain during a blizzard, the Zao Chuo Ropeway is the core transportation method to Zao Onsen Ski Resort, a famous ski resort in the Tohoku region of Japan. It not only takes you directly to the mountaintop but also allows you to enjoy a 360-degree view of the magnificent snow scenery from above. 【Ouchi-juku】 Ancient Japanese architecture and modern lifestyles converge here. Traditional teahouses, old eaves, and the occasional modern ice cream sign all exude a sense of warmth and familiarity. Explore the atmosphere where ancient and modern blend, and experience a wonderful sense of temporal dislocation.

Reviews
Reviews summaryI personally think the overall experience was great however, The part i think need to be looked into is the time allowed for lunch break the highway stop is a little short. Other than that good job to the guide for the arrangement and hospitality.
Recommend this 2D1N tour. The driver was professional and the ride felt very safe, which was important traveling with seniors. Vivien was a fantastic coordinator, keeping us informed and safe at every stop. From the foxes to the historic streets of Ginzan Onsen, the whole experience was smooth and stress-free.
We had an incredible 2-day trip! Our guide, Vivien, was exceptional—she is multilingual, which made communication a breeze. She was incredibly caring toward my 70+ year old mother, ensuring everyone was comfortable and safe. She also gave great safety reminders throughout the tour and helped us capture beautiful family photos. We felt very well looked after!
This tour was honestly the highlight of our Japan trip. We started at Zao Fox Village, which was such a unique experience seeing the foxes up close. Then we visited Ginzan Onsen and were lucky enough to experience snowfall - it felt magical, especially at night with the lights on. We stayed at a comfortable hotel with onsen facilities. The next day, we took the Zao Ropeway for beautiful snowy mountain views, and ended at Ouchi-juku, which felt like stepping back in time. Transport was by bus and everything was smooth and well organized. Our guide Vivien was amazing! She's super kind, knowledgeable, and made the whole trip seamless. Highly recommend!
I had an excellent experience on this tour. Vivi was a very professional, friendly, and attentive guide at all times. She was very concerned about the group, especially the elderly, and always explained everything to us with patience and enthusiasm. Thanks to her, we got to know beautiful places, learned about Japanese culture, and took away very nice memories, both in photos and in experiences. It is clear that she loves her job and cares that everyone enjoys the trip. I definitely recommend this tour and Vivi as a guide. Thank you very much for everything!
This was my first time using this travel app to explore Japan’s Tohoku region with our guide, Lee Xiang. After reading many good reviews, I felt confident and excited about the trip. On the first day, we visited Zao Fox Village in Miyagi and Ginzan Onsen in Yamagata. There was a lot of snow, but the weather was nice with blue skies. Our driver was professional and drove smoothly, so we had enough time to enjoy the beautiful scenery. We stayed at a hotel with an artificial radium hot spring, which was very relaxing. On the second day, the weather was sunny again. We took the Zao Chuo Ropeway to Torikabuto Station, halfway up the mountain, and saw the famous snow monsters. The view was amazing, and we rang a bell for good luck. Later, we visited Ouchi-juku, an old post town from the Edo period. The snow-covered houses were charming. I enjoyed green onion soba and mochi at a local restaurant. Overall, the trip was comfortable, well organized, and highly recommended.
Thanks to Tommy, our guide, we had a truly wonderful two days! He sent us all the necessary information via LINE before the trip and was incredibly quick to confirm messages. Throughout the itinerary, he always promptly provided information like meeting times and directions via LINE, which was very convenient! And even though we were the only Koreans, our guide was fluent in Chinese, English, and Japanese, so we had no communication issues at all! I thought there might be some places we couldn't go to due to weather conditions, but we ended up being able to visit everywhere. The entire itinerary was beautiful, and it created unforgettable memories! On the way to Ginzan Onsen, the bus tires got stuck in the snow, and we couldn't move at all, but the bus driver and Tommy the guide kept reassuring everyone and responsibly solved the problem, which was great! It felt like another memorable event was created! Also, we thought we wouldn't be able to go to Ginzan Onsen because of the delay, but Tommy did his best by contacting the company, etc., and we were able to enter even though the Ginzan Onsen shuttle bus operating hours had ended! We were so glad to be able to see the beautiful Ginzan Onsen. And the guide was really good at taking pictures, which was great 📸👍 The hotel was clean, spacious, and we were able to use the hot springs, which was satisfying, and it was great that there was breakfast too 👍 There are also sushi restaurants and izakayas nearby, so you can use them for dinner! I was so satisfied with the guide, the itinerary, and the scenery that I would like to use it again! I highly recommend it to Koreans!!
Absolutely worth it! The tour was smooth, well-organized, and thoughtfully planned. Our guide was accommodating, friendly, and knowledgeable, which made the whole experience even better. Every stop was beautiful. We felt well taken care of the entire time. Our accommodation was nice too. Highly recommended!

Amazing 2D1N excursion, value for money & it's a must attend if you want to experience the winter season/snow when you travel to Tokyo. At the same time, kudos to Tommy (Tour leader) & the bus driver (8000), although the weather is very bad (heavy snow) & peak season at Ginza Osen; however, Tommy & the bus driver make sure we can have all the activities & work until very late, although is over their working time.
