What to expect
Need a break from the hustle and bustle of the Auckland urban sprawl? Venture into the beautiful island of Waiheke and go ziplining and walking in its beautiful native forest. Begin your tour by catching a ferry in Auckland City (9:00am or 1:00pm, depending on your preferred tour time slot), and then go on a short cruise where you can admire the seascape and breathe in the smell of sea salt. Once you arrive at the Matiatia Wharf of Waiheke Island, you’ll meet up with two fun-loving, English-speaking tour guides. They will take you on a 20-minute tour around Waiheke and regale you with their stories and commentary on the island’s highlights. After that, you’ll head into a centuries-old forest where you can go ziplining from one forest zone to another. If you have some companions, you can zipline in pairs; it’s more fun that way! After an adrenaline-pumping experience, the guides will take you on a relaxing woodland walk and talk to you about the history of the forest; you’ll feel one with nature all throughout the walk.

They will take you on a 20-minute tour around Waiheke and regale you with their stories and commentary on the island's highlights. ... Eco-friendly zip lining.
The driver was punctual and the whole trip was completed within 3 hours which includes the zip rides and 25 forest walks.
First of all, you need to know that you need to take a boat to go to the island to zipline. The boat ticket is very expensive! After that, a staff member picked me up at the pier and went to zipline. Zipline is very fun!
A very satisfying experience! We took the 12:00 noon ferry and arrived at Waiheke Island Matiatia Pier at 12:45. As soon as we got off the ferry, the driver and tour guide greeted us with a sign. When driving to EcoZip Headquarters, the driver did not forget to introduce the island's scenery and facilities! Upon arrival, the tour guide asked us to put our backpacks in the lockers, then put on our safety gear and started experiencing three exciting Ziplines! After completing the Zipline experience, the tour guide led us back to the HQ from the distinctive jungle at the foot of the mountain, and then sent us back to the dock. It is an experience worth recommending!
Ferry take one hour to reach Waiheke Island from Auckland, I take 9am ferry and arrived before 10am. Ferry ticket is not include in this package need to purchase through online at Fuller or purchase at Ferry Terminal Auckland. Klook package is always worth to purchase compared to local package. 3 zipline and excited and good to try, is safe and clear guidance from two of the instructor.
A very fun and enjoyable experience! The beauty of Waiheke Island and New Zealand's native plants is impressive, and the coaches leading the way are all friendly and lovely! However, I would like to remind everyone reading the reviews that if you want a pick-up, read the email carefully and arrive at the agreed location in advance 🥲. Because it's only written in the email, I only looked at the app and completely messed up the time. Fortunately, they contacted me by phone, but it cost me an extra 70 New Zealand dollars for a taxi. Also, ferry tickets can actually be purchased directly walk-in from the Auckland city center pier, or just use the AT HOP transport card. There is a ferry every hour, which is actually very convenient.
I really enjoyed ziplining on Waiheke Island and would definitely do it again when I’m in Auckland. All staff members were very friendly. Two amazing guides, Lucy and Sophie, were there to ensure safety and entertain me during the experience so I felt safe and relaxed. PS It was supposed to be a small group thing but I ended up having a private tour because some people didn’t show up.
the tour was super worthwhile for me because i ended up being the only one on tour. i didn't have to wait for others on the zipline, so it was really nice just having the tour guide all to myself. the zip lining was extremely fun and the nature hike was really interesting. it's a beautiful part of waiheke anyone should check out!
hi Ella and Lucy! We hope you get to read this! My wife and I really enjoyed the zip line and Ella and Lucy were so funny and great in cajoling the group (very enjoyable size of 7). They were so good they looked like they been working together for years. The view was great and we like the way Lucy describe the 3rd Zip as “the biiiiiig doooooog”. The action camera I had on my hand dropped on the 3rd zip and I honestly thought I have lost it forever. And guess what!? Eagle eye Ella spotted it coming off me and went down the hill to help to find and retrieve it. Being black in color, it is reasonable to assume it is hard to find in the woods but Ella somehow managed to spot it. My wife and I are thrilled as it contained many footage of our trip in NZ. We were incredibly lucky and massive big thanks to Ella!! Being asians we were a little mooted in our gratitude at the time but our hearts were racing and somehow just couldn’t find the words to thank you (Ella). You are so great!!
Pick up from the pier, the equipment is clean, the explanation is detailed so that people who experience it for the first time can also relax and play, the safety protection measures are complete, there are only three sections that are still unfinished, and finally the arrangements for returning to the starting point with jungle hiking activities are very good!
