Reviews
Highly recommend this tea ceremony. This was absolutely fantastic. A traditional tea ceremony. Very informative, peaceful and traditional. Loved learning about the Japenese tea ceremony history. Thank you so much.
location: originally I had difficulty finding the place because google maps had me walk other ways but it’s in a building that looks like a school one of the workers inside led me up and everything went fine instructor: I appreciate the knowledge and care and time put into the session. you can tell the instructor loves what he does for a living. experience: great time if you are into history
a wonderful hour spent learning about the culture around a tea ceremony, the years it takes to become a tea master and the history around it all. an amazing peak into a very traditional pass time. Our instructor was also very lovely and adapted to a relaxed style for the teenagers in the room.
Unique experience that I highly recommend. It was extremely interesting, I learned a lot about the ceremony itself but also about Japanese culture. The instructor was very caring and exciting. Thank you for everything!
My husband and I were ultra fortunate to have had a private tea ceremony experience with the grand tea master. What a wonderful gift for us honeymooners. He was incredibly knowledgeable in the history of tea ceremony and explained in detail on the rules of the ceremony. I must say, it was a cultural lesson that’s truly worth it!
The entire experience was quite unique. Host was quite communicative before the class to confirm the class schedule and personal details in regards to kimono fitting. Tea master was very knowledgeable and patient in explaining the history and process of tea ceremony. One thing that was quite disappointing is that he used his phone to take our pictures and didn't allow us to use our personal phones. Top it off, at the end he refused to share the pictures until we write a review.
very great experience! The tea master was very knowledgeable, kind, patient and friendly. I learned a lot about the history and methodology of the tea ceremony. very serene and calming atmosphere. definitely a great experience when in Japan. It is a great way to disconnect from the bustling city into the calm Japanese rich tradition of the tea ceremony.
I reached at 13.01 despite the 13.00 schedule due to navigation problems. However, the instructor was kind and considerate. He greeted us with open arms, helped us with the kimono and provided detailed explanation on the tea ceremony- its roots, 900 year history and significance in the Japanese culture. I highly rec this experience to those keen on knowing more about history.
It was a very insightful and interesting experience. The teacher was very engaging, respectful, and knowledgeable about tea ceremonies. This was our first tea ceremony but it will not be our last. It's a great way to get an impression of Japanese culture, and learn some of their core values regarding manners, respect, and etiquette. Thank you very much for a great experience.
Very good experience for first time visitors in Japan. At first, the grand tea master gave us a thorough overview of Japanese culture and we all got to make some matcha tea and learn manners on how native people drink it. Booking this experience was smooth and easy, and the host also asked our height beforehand so we could all get the right size kimonos. There was also a possibility to buy the kimono after to ceremony. Would recommend! 😊
