Carlos our guide was funny, social and sweet.gave us great food recommendations at cascais.we had less time at sintra to explore coz the pastry line was long to wait.estoril was just passing by and not visited.
Joao was a very good guide. he was fun and very approachable. redeeming tickets was fairly easy, you just have to show the qr code. it was a bit raining and the meeting point is not covered, so we were all in the open while they check the tickets. bus left on time. cascais was rainy so we only explored a bit and stayed in an ice cream shop that was recommended (must try the cascais flavor!) sintra was a bit nicer since it's sunnier, joao also recommended places to eat. cherry liquor is a must! pena palace was interesting, but a bit old already. lots of people queueing up though. highlight of the tour is cabo de roca! end of the world.
Sintra is cheaper if you use public transportation from Lisbon, but I booked a day tour on Klook due to the connecting time to visit Pena Castle and Cape Joaquin, and the long lines at the public transportation tourist attractions. At first, I thought it was a bit expensive, but... I was able to visit safely and quickly under the guidance of a friendly guide even in the waiting line at Pena Castle and the bad weather, and I was satisfied and thought, "Ah! This is why you need to take a guided tour." I especially recommend a guided tour if the weather is even a little cloudy. The driver who drove slowly through the narrow alleys had great manners, and the other tour groups all adjusted their times well and gave us a lot of free time, so we had a more comfortable trip.
Surprisingly we were in a small group of 6, making the tour more private. Our tour guide Hugo is very professional and friendly. He introduced the Pena Palace to us in details.
There are many groups gathering there at the same time, and check-in starts at 20 minutes. The staff are very efficient and will tell you which bus to take. It’s a one-day itinerary to visit all the suburbs of Lisbon. Leave enough time and don’t rush too much. Finally, go to the Pena Palace. This itinerary does not include tickets to the palace. Others in the same group have tickets to visit the palace. Director It takes about 50 minutes to explore the interior. If you don’t have a ticket, you can take photos and rest in the park.
nice trip! the tour guide is a good storyteller who told us many unknown stories!
I enjoyed my trip to Sintra with the guide's kind explanations and consideration! In Sintra, he also shared a list of good restaurants, so we had a great lunch. Also, the large bus was spacious and comfortable.
NEVER, NEVER, NEVER buy tours from Klook. Lots of issues to redeem any tour or multi days passes. Klook system is inferior and leads to lots of issues at tour or multi days pass redemption. I recommend that everyone purchase tours from Viator instead. The Tour operator and tour guides are exceptional for this Sintra tour (they are not affiliated with Klook). Tour was lovely and the tour guides were knowledgeable and passionate about depicting the history of the 3 locations we visited. However, due to Klook inferior system, I had lots of issues with my bookings and activation dates. Will stop using Klookand steer all my travel business towards Viator.
The tour guide adopts a small group system and will take good care of every member. The itinerary includes admission to Pena Palace, highly recommended! In addition, we will go to a seaside city where there is an ice cream shop (the tour guide will usually introduce it or you will see a queue of shops on the way to the seaside).
The whole process was very comfortable, and the vehicle was a comfortable van type. The tour guide was very friendly, and there was enough time for taking photos and eating.
