Reviews
We definitely enjoyed and learned a lot on this tour. Ping, our guide, added a personal touch through humorous and engaging retellings of her family's stories and experiences. Some of the sites we have already visited, but Ping's storytelling added a new perspective so we looked at these structures in a different way.
Our guide Ping was professional, passionate and thoughtful, always will to answer questions. Really enjoyed the tour, the stories that made buildings meaningful, and the lunch by the river so that we got to know other members of the tour. Some spaces were not open on the day but didn't affect the charm of the tour. Though it was hot and rained a bit, Ping organised our route in and out buildings so we got plenty of shelter, water, toilet break, and lovely photos on the way. Would be good to bring water bottle and umbrella. Recommend to anyone interested in having a peek into history, architecture, and how they would connect to the Singapore we see today.
The Splendour of Colonial Singapore Walking Tour exceeded all my expectations, thanks in no small part to Ping, our extraordinary tour guide. Ping is by far one of the best guides I have ever encountered in all my travels. Her passion and love for what she does shine through every moment, making the experience not just informative but genuinely memorable. Ping’s storytelling is nothing short of captivating. She brought Singapore’s colonial history to life in a way that was both engaging and thought-provoking, giving me an entirely new perspective on the city. The sites we visited—while beautiful—would not have been nearly as interesting without Ping’s ability to weave their histories into compelling narratives. What truly stood out was her personal connection to these stories, which made the experience feel intimate and meaningful. For first-time visitors to Singapore, I cannot recommend this tour highly enough. Despite being a walking tour, it was thoughtfully paced, with several moments to sit, take in the stunning colonial architecture, and absorb the rich stories Ping shared. This balance of walking and reflection made the experience not only educational but also relaxing and enjoyable. If you’re looking for a tour that combines history, culture, and incredible storytelling, this is the one. And if you’re lucky enough to have Ping as your guide, you’re in for an unforgettable journey.
We had a wonderful experience on today’s tour, and a big part of that was thanks to our amazing guide, Ping. She was not only knowledgeable and informative but also incredibly friendly, patient, and attentive to every detail.
I had an amazing experience on the Splendour of Colonial Singapore tour. Our guide, Ping from On-A-Roll-Tour, was extremely knowledgeable and engaging. Through vivid storytelling, Ping connected Singapore’s historical background with its architecture in a way that made the city’s colonial heritage come alive. The tour was well-paced, informative, and truly helped me appreciate the historical layers behind the beautiful buildings. Highly recommend this tour for anyone who wants to see Singapore from a richer perspective!
Our tour guide, Ping, was simply fantastic. We were lucky to have her for part of a day answering all our pondering about the country and the people of Singapore. She knows her subject matter well! This was not my first encounter with Singaporean history and culture but I found this tour fresh and insightful from a different perspective that made me see Singapore in a different light. My highest recommendation!
Ping is the best guide I have met in Singapore! She has rich history knowledge and high intelligence, I really enjoy such wonderful trip with her guide and wish to come back again.
