it was a cool experience, very magical, my kids enjoyed it. it's just that i suggest you book a private vehicle to get there coz it's in the rural area, but other than that it was a very unique and memorable experience.
the cave was amazing, easy walk through, well light with information. but it only takes 15-30mins to walk through and your done. there is nothing else to see or do. transport here from Naha is a nightmare. 3buses or 2buses and a taxi. cost $50 one way. I'm glad I went though, just wish there where transport options and more to do
the place was so good and mesmerizing also entrance fee was cheap
It felt a bit pricey. There were efforts made to make it easy to view, such as with the lighting. The iron pipe-like stairs made me feel a little uneasy. It was hot, so it was nice to cool down a bit.
QR code scaninng for audio expanation is great!

Guide

  • One of the largest limestone caves in central Okinawa! A power spot revered by locals as a sacred place.
  • You can see stalactites of great power, such as the red and white rocks, the symbol of the cave for good luck, and a hole in the shape of a heart!
  • Come and experience the mysterious world formed by nature over tens of thousands of years!

Some locals call Cave Okinawa "Nuchishinujigama" ("the cave where life was saved" in the Okinawan dialect), and it is known as a place of good fortune that is revered by the locals, and has come to attract attention as a "power spot." The name comes from two stories of when lives were saved here. The first time was during the Ryukyu period. Legend has it that the prince of Nakijin Castle, a World Heritage site, escaped to this cave after a battle, survived, and later built Iha Castle. The second time, about 300 residents were evacuated here during the Battle of Okinawa, but not a single person lost his or her life. During that evacuation, a male and female child was born, and the site is known as a place of good fortune.

The highlight of Cave Okinawa is the symbolic and extremely rare "red and white" stalactite. This area was the birthplace of the male and female children during the batle of Okinawa, and is considered a very auspicious place. There are also many stalactites such as "Golden Rocks" which bring good luck in gold, "Sparkling Rocks," and "Countless Icicle Stone." In addition, you can see the heart-shaped "Heart Rock," which is popular on social networking sites, and explore its mysteries.

The lighting and passage facilities have been renewed since February 2018, and it takes about 30 minutes to see, so feel free to enjoy it during your sightseeing or excursions in Okinawa. The illuminated, magical space is also a must-see!
