The tour guide knows a lot of knowledge and gives real-time explanations along the way. Many fleeting points are easy to miss without the tour guide's explanation. The whole journey takes more than two hours, which is quite cost-effective. The only pity is that Suzhou Street is under maintenance. Overall, it is very good

Guide David again (no complaints). Meetup location is convenient. Tour was conducted in both English and Chinese which took some waiting time in between. Very big and impressive place. Sufficient time given for self exploring. Recomend that package include tour bus back to city area as it is quite out of town.

Scenic Gardens

The Imperial Gardens of the Old Summer Palace were divided into three main sections: the Garden of Perfect Brightness, the Garden of Eternal Spring, and the Garden of Elegant Spring. The Qianlong Emperor's fascination with exotic cultures led to the creation of 'hybrid' structures, with Western stone facades built over traditional Chinese wooden frames, showcasing a remarkable architectural fusion.

Art and Artifacts

The Old Summer Palace once housed some of China's most treasured art and artifacts. Many of these items were looted during the 1860 assault, including the famous bronze animal heads representing the 12 animals of the zodiac.
