I was desperately searching for a tour for 1 person and I'm so glad I found this! I got Kaori as my tour guide and she was simply wonderful. She reached out to me right away and we started planning the itinerary together. She made sure to consider my needs and we spent a very interesting and great day together. Highly recommend this service - especially for solo travelers who would like to have a knowledgeable local accompany them on their trip.

We loved the tour and even the order of the tour was perfectly planned out. Should be mentioned, the tour guide does not know perfect english but has the ability and made the effort to communicate properly at all times, very talkative and extremely friendly. Knows all the facts and curiosities around the place and was happy to answer any questions. Kept making stops to hydrate and go to the restroom.

Due to the approaching typhoon, it rained all day and the event was canceled. However, I only found out when I arrived at the venue. Klook directly processed the cancellation and refund through their system.

Anyone familiar with Hiroshima's history will surely want to visit the Peace Memorial Museum when they come to Hiroshima. I arrived around 9 AM and already saw busloads of Japanese students arriving at the museum entrance, even more than regular tourists. I was surprised it was so crowded on a Thursday morning, which slightly affected the visitor experience. The entrance is on the right side of the building. If you bought your ticket in advance on Klook, you don't need to pick up a physical ticket; you can just scan the QR code at the entrance. I highly recommend renting an audio guide as well; I found it made the entire visit much more informative! After more than an hour of touring, I felt the fragility of human life, yet also the strength of the human spirit!

The service was excellent. Although it's an older hotel, the service was very good, and the details were nice. However, I hope the room cleanliness can be improved. Hotel location: Convenient for transportation.

What to know about Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park

Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park, an important spot in Hiroshima city. This large park covers over 120,000 square meters and stands out with its green trees, open lawns, and peaceful paths amid the city. Located near the famous Atomic Bomb Dome, Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park is like a quiet place in the city, sitting between two rivers. It honors the many lives lost in the first nuclear attack, showing how precious life is and why we need to work for peace. Before the atomic bomb, this was a busy area for politics and commerce. Sadly, it was chosen for the bombing. But four years later, it was decided not to rebuild here but to make it a place to remember and promote peace. Come visit this special place and learn about its history.

Things to do in Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park

A-Bomb Dome

The A-Bomb Dome is a poignant symbol of resilience and a strong reminder of the past. As one of the few structures left standing near the bomb's hypocenter, this UNESCO World Heritage Site offers a powerful glimpse into the catastrophic impact of nuclear warfare. The skeletal remains of the former Hiroshima Prefectural Industrial Promotion Hall stand as a testament to the horrors of war and a beacon for peace, inviting visitors to reflect on the past and hope for a peaceful future.

Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum

Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum provides an in-depth narrative of the events of August 6, 1945, and the enduring impact of the atomic bomb. With its extensive collection of photographs, artifacts, and testimonies, the museum offers a profound understanding of the human cost of nuclear warfare and the resilience of the Hiroshima community. To make the most of your visit, consider purchasing web tickets in advance to avoid long wait times.

Children's Peace Monument

Celebrate the spirit of hope and peace at the Children's Peace Monument, a heartfelt tribute to the young lives lost in the atomic bombing. Inspired by the touching story of Sadako Sasaki, a young girl who folded over 1,000 paper cranes in her battle against radiation sickness, this monument stands as a global symbol of peace. Decorated with colorful paper cranes sent from around the world, it invites visitors to join in the call for a future free from nuclear threats, honoring the memory of the children who perished and inspiring a commitment to peace.

Cenotaph for the A-Bomb Victims

Right between the museum and the A-Bomb Dome, this arched tomb is a tribute to the atomic bomb victims who lost their lives due to the bomb blast or radiation. Under the arch, you'll find a stone chest with a list of over 220,000 names, honoring their memory.

The Flame of Peace

The Flame of Peace at Hiroshima Peace Park is shaped like a person's hands pressed together, pointing to the sky. This flame represents the survivors' desperate search for water after the devastating blast. Many badly burned victims sought relief by running to the river and nearby lake in the Shukkeien Japanese Gardens.
