Queenstown Day trips

We had a great experience with our guide Jamie on the return journey to Milford Sound. Plenty of stops for photos and a break, as well as a lovely nature walk to Lake Gunn. Our guide didn't only point out the scenery but also highlighted the nature and birds, with plenty of fun stories too. It was a perfect day for the Milford Sound boat ride as well.

Our family of 4 had such an enjoyable time. We went on 25 Nov and our tour guide was so helpful and friendly. Cheese toasties and small token of souvenirs was an added surprise element I was totally taken off. thank you for making our trip so memorable.

wasn't a big fan of LOTR but honestly learned a lot from this tour. riding on a 4wd vehicle adds to the fun as well! the tour guide is very knowledgeable and fun. the banana bread (and other food) brought is delicious. it's cute when the driver offered us to eat what he brought for us. 🙂

Our recent road trip from Queenstown to Christchurch was nothing short of spectacular. This journey is a masterclass in NZ’s natural beauty, offering landscapes that feel pulled straight from a movie set. Leaving Queenstown, the drive through the tussock-clad Lindis Pass is hauntingly beautiful. We made a quick stop in Omarama—before the scenery shifted into the dramatic Mackenzie Country. Lake Pukaki & Mt Cook: Nothing prepares you for the first glimpse of Lake Pukaki. The water is an impossibly bright, milky turquoise. Following the shoreline toward Aoraki/Mt Cook was the highlight; seeing the snow-capped peak of NZ highest mountain reflected in the water is a memory I’ll keep forever. Lake Tekapo: A stop at the iconic Church of the Good Shepherd is essential. The contrast of the stone chapel against the vibrant blue lake is stunning. The final stretch through the Canterbury Plains into Christchurch offered a peaceful transition from the rugged alps to the "Garden City."

I had a good time travelling from Christchruch to Queenstown. We were also stopped at several places like Mt. Cook, Tasman Glacier, Lake Tekapo, Lake Pukaki, Lindis Pass, Orchrdas and High Country Salmon. If you are travelling from Christchurch to Queenstown, you will be transferred into other van in Mt Cook. Don't worry, the driver is as welcome as the first one. Overall good experience, thank you!

I am so glad that I booked this tour!! Totally worth it, very charming little towns, eith plenty of local shops and delicious food! Our guide, Chris was fantastic — super knowledgeable and funny, with great stories and a smart sense of humor that made the day even more enjoyable.

Thank you to our guide, Qing, for the thoughtful tour of Arrowtown and Glenorchy. Besides enthusiastically helping us take photos, she also made special stops at a few secret scenic spots along the way for us to admire and photograph. For lunch and dinner, she recommended delicious hidden gems from her personal list. It's been a week since we returned, and I still miss every moment of our time in New Zealand. So happy! 😁

Booked for 6:30 AM, and you need to be at the pick-up location 10 minutes early. Seemed like we waited 20 minutes due to previous passengers being late. The 2 driver-guides spoke English throughout the entire trip, and they will let you off to take pictures of attractions along the way. The chicken burger and snacks for lunch were alright, even though they were cold. Milford Sound is worth visiting! Due to weather issues, the helicopter tour I originally booked was canceled for two consecutive days, so choosing this tour was worth the price. Highly recommended!

The tour is run by Altitude Tour. the tour guide, James, did a great job by giving detailed information on the spots during the long journey. He managed to arrange a boat trip for us upon our last-minute request. It’s a great experience to be on a glacier lake!
