A very down-to-earth Michelin-recommended restaurant. The dishes are unpretentious but taste great. The whole family provides the service, which makes it feel very welcoming.

I had mixed feelings about this restaurant. First, it should be clear that this is not currently a 3-star Michelin restaurant. It held 3 stars in the past but has not received a star for quite some time. Klook should not advertise it in a way that suggests otherwise. Our tasting menu was different from the couple beside us, which was fine, but their dishes seemed more interesting and carefully prepared. Some of ours felt uninspired. I also expected more interaction with the chef, but very little was prepared in front of us. The biggest disappointment was dessert: plain vanilla ice cream. We honestly thought it was a joke and that the actual dessert would follow. It didn’t. For a restaurant with such a distinguished Michelin history, this was incredibly disappointing. The staff were very kind and the service personalized. Unfortunately, the food needs significant improvement to reach even a 1-star level, and our experience was very far from the 3 star standard suggested when booking

As a Michelin three-star restaurant, there are certain expectations! The entire meal consisted of fish, with no particularly special dishes. There was no explanation of the different types of fish, nor any impressive knife skills to observe. We even had to ask for tea, and it was never refilled proactively. The staff, however, were very polite.

Maybe my expectations were wrong, and the restaurant was hard to find (Google Maps navigation was one alley away). I had high expectations for a meal that cost nearly 800 RMB per person, but I was also very disappointed. There was not a single dish that was particularly amazing...

It doesn't feel like it has three Michelin stars at all, and the service is completely wrong. The food quality is average and the dishes are not as good as expected from Kaiseki cuisine. The charges are sky-high and there is no menu and I can’t even get it. The location is super hard to find. Fuck me next time. I advise all my dear companions not to go again. There are many choices in Kyoto that are better than this one.

The food is fresh and nice, also accompany with good service from the staffs. Last but not least, warm hospitality from the friendly lady boss.

I think it received 3 Michelin stars in the past, not now. The food and ingredients are a bit disappointing considering the price. Do you know why there are different opinions? I think there are many restaurants that serve delicious kaiseki cuisine, even if they don't have a Michelin star.
