Mifuneyama Rakuen
  • Come visit the art exhibition held by the famous art group, teamLab, "teamLab: A Forest Where Gods Live", which is open from July 18 to November 3.
  • Mifuneyama Rakuen is a large garden created on an area of 500,000 square meters. This expansive exhibition uses digital technology to transform the natural forms of the park, including megaliths and caves that have lived in the park's natural surroundings for 3 million years, into art.
  • The exhibition features more than 20 works where nature is made into art in its natural state, such as a waterfall drawn on a real boulder and fish swimming in a projection on the surface of a pond.
  • The exhibition is held every year from summer to fall, and it has been chosen as one of the must-see places in CNN's "Outdoor art exhibits to see around the world".
  • In Mifuneyama Rakuen, there is also a sauna that has been selected as one of the must-go-to saunas in Japan. You can have a relaxing time in the hot spring and sauna, and enjoy art at the same time.
  • Please present your voucher to enter. Wristbands will be handed out at the time of admission.

What to expect

This is a vast exhibition in which non-material digital technology transforms the natural forms of the park, such as rocks and caves that have existed in the park’s natural surroundings for 3 million years, into art without harming them. teamLab believes that by using beings that have existed for a long time and transcended our own time as they are and turning them into a group of artworks, we can transcend the boundaries of our perception of the continuity of time and create a place where we can feel that our existence exists on the long, long continuity of time. This exhibition, which can only be seen every summer and fall, is now in its 9th year and has been selected by CNN as one of the ““Outdoor art exhibits to see around the world”.

Review for: [Weekday] Art Exhibition Ticket

Utterly grateful to experience this before it ends. This deserves the award for ‘The Best TeamLab Experience’! Using the grand & historic forest as the palette for this exhibition is simply just breathtaking, even from the starting entrance. I feel like I entered a secret garden! Very impressed with all the hardwork to make this event a success. TeamLab geniuses did an excellent job using Light & Sound to captivate, inspire & allow us to contemplate! At the end, I’m left speechless & pondering for a long time.

A few days ago, I visited the art exhibition "teamLab: The Forest Where the Gods Live" organized by the famous art group teamLab. The exhibition is a large-scale exhibition in the large garden of Mifuneyama Rakuen covering an area of 500,000 square meters. The team used digital technology to combine the natural forms of the park (including huge rocks and rocks that have lived in the park's natural environment for 3 million years). cave) transformed into art. More than 20 exhibits are on display, works that transform the state of nature into art, such as waterfalls painted on real boulders and fish swimming in projections on the surface of a pond. The exhibition was selected by CNN as one of the must-see places to see outdoor art exhibitions around the world.

Amazing is the only word I can think of to describe this experience. I got there as it was opening, and maybe it's because it was a weekday, but there wasn't a lot of people so I was practically alone in the forest area. As you go through the exhibits you start seeing a lot more people and smaller spaces.

It's my 3rd Teamlab experience. This one is a bit different since it is in a forest. The whole area is so huge it will take hours for you to visit every landmark. But it is fun and interesting. Just a reminder to wear mosquito repellent and for older people, might be a bit tiring since you will walk a lot. Will recommend this to others.

This is in nearby Saga City - purchase a limited express pass if coming from Hakata Station. An amazing outdoor experience from teamLab! Indoor installations are beside a beautiful hotel. Wear comfortable clothes and bring jackets since activity starts at night. Worth the trip!

Very magical place, love their efforts in putting together something like this. They used an abandoned bathhouse for the inside exhibition which was creepy and exciting to me. The pond outside had projection of fish on it so it was very cool. Worth the price so cheap haha

A very special experience, well worth the trip. There's a bus from Takeo Onsen Station, but it only goes to the second entrance. If you want to be there right when the night exhibition opens, you'll have to walk to the first entrance (the second entrance opens an hour later). I recommend going with someone, it's very dark and scary, especially the ruins exhibit in area B (it really is ruins)... it's like a scene from a horror movie! Area A is much more lively, as it's located downstairs in the Mifuneyama Hotel. After walking around, you'll conveniently exit from the second exit. There are also buses at night (you can check the bus schedule on Google Maps).

I highly recommend this exhibition. The park is very large and the lighting effects are amazing everywhere! You can download the official APP to use with the tour guide, and you can easily visit various exhibitions, which is very convenient! The entire Mifuneyama Park has undulating terrain, so be sure to wear light and comfortable shoes when visiting to ensure that the trip is definitely worthwhile!

Lighting and sound combined with natural terrain and forest plants create a feast for the senses. The outdoor exhibition venue at night is what distinguishes it from other teamLabs. The forest seems to be alive with spirituality. The location is located on a hill and is not easy to reach. It is recommended to drive there, or it is recommended to reserve a little more time, and there are fewer bus trips.
