This was our first time chartering a car in Japan, and the experience was fantastic. Even with heavy rain, there were places to take shelter and rest, and it was flexible and convenient for moving between attractions. Driver Xiao Song took care of us today; he is very quiet, drives smoothly, and is extremely patient. The Kamishikimi Kumanoimasu Shrine in the rain was stunning, we couldn't see much at Mount Aso, and Kusasenri turned into 'Grass-one-meter-ri' haha. We wisely decided to skip Takachiho Gorge, and the timing upon returning to Fukuoka was just right.

For this trip, we departed Fukuoka at 8:10 AM. The driver suggested we go to Beppu first and explained the time it would take. We only visited Umi Jigoku (Sea Hell), enjoyed a foot bath, and ate pudding. We spent the remaining time in Yufuin, leaving Beppu around 3:40 PM to return to the hotel. The return journey was very congested, but the driver even exited the highway early at Dazaifu and arrived at the hotel promptly at 6:06 PM, perfectly managing the time! The driver was very kind, the car was new, and his driving skills were excellent. He answered all our questions!

Our family of seven traveled together, and since it was our first time visiting Fukuoka, we planned several nearby attractions. However, as there were elderly family members with us, to avoid complicated transportation issues and save time at each attraction, we opted for a private car service.
