- Arrive at Shirahige Falls The most important attraction in Biei, it is a rare underground waterfall in Japan. Groundwater seeps out from the cracks in the rocks and pours down from a height of about 30 meters with a strong momentum, merging into the Biei River. Because the waterfall’s water flow pattern resembles a white beard, it is called “Shirahige Falls”. Free tour for 30 minutes

I understand that traffic can be affected by weather, but I felt like the driver (who wasn't really a tour guide, just a driver with no introductions or leading the group) seemed like he just wanted to finish the itinerary quickly and send us back. When we couldn't agree on the itinerary (he actually wanted to change it to go to the Elf Terrace in the morning and the Christmas tree in the evening 🤨), he kept emphasizing how bad the road conditions were and even asked passengers to help watch the road, which made me feel very uneasy and unprofessional. I thought booking this kind of small, refined tour would be better, but the car wasn't comfortable, and he kept trying to change the itinerary, so I wouldn't recommend it overall.

Staying warm and slip-resistant is key: The temperature in Asahikawa in winter can drop to around -10℃, so be sure to wear waterproof and slip-resistant snow boots, a thick down jacket, scarf, gloves, and other warm gear. There is a lot of snow at outdoor attractions, so watch your step when walking to avoid slipping. Reminder of the pace of the itinerary: Sufficient time has been reserved for stops at each attraction (100 minutes including lunch upon arrival at Miyamae Park & Asahikawa Station). Please remember the meeting time and gather at the designated location 5 minutes in advance to avoid making your fellow travelers wait. Small group travel tips: The 7-9 person small group provides a comfortable space. If you have needs such as motion sickness or dietary preferences, please inform the tour leader in advance for coordination. Please keep the car clean and take your trash with you to the rest area for disposal.
