What to expect

Visit a thousand-year-old Zen temple, see the Flying Waterfalls, and explore the wonderland of strange rocks. Experience all of Sendai's hidden gems in one day. Let's start this fulfilling journey now!

  • First Stop: Jogi Nyorai Saihoji Temple Thousand-Year-Old Tang Dynasty Temple, Sacred Site of Northeast Buddhism | The oldest existing Tang Dynasty-style temple in the Tohoku region of Japan, enshrining the national treasure “Wooden Seated Statue of Nyorai,” designated as an Important Cultural Property of Japan. The vermilion main hall and overhanging eaves reproduce the elegance of the Tang Dynasty. The temple’s “Bonsho” bell is the oldest in Sendai, with a deep and resonant sound, selected as one of the “100 Best Bell Sounds in Japan.”
  • Second Stop: Akiu Great Falls One of Japan’s Three Great Waterfalls, a Field of Heavenly and Earthly Energy: A waterfall with a drop of 55 meters and a width of 6 meters cascades like a silver river, impacting huge rocks with a thunderous roar. The water mist rises into the air, forming a rainbow spectacle, and has been recognized as one of “Japan’s Top 100 Waterfalls” and a “National Scenic Spot.” The waterfall was formed by ancient volcanic activity and has been cut into deep potholes by tens of thousands of years of water flow. The pool water is as green as jade.
  • Third Stop: Rairaikyo Gorge Basalt Art Gallery, Sendai Secret: A columnar jointed basalt group formed by submarine volcanic eruptions, cut by the Natori River, creating a 2-kilometer canyon spectacle. The rock columns resemble giant piano keys and overlapping dragon scales, and is known as a “natural geological museum.”

From Tang Dynasty Zen to the divine power of nature, see the soul of Sendai in one day. This is not just a journey, but a dialogue between landscapes and the soul. Come join us!
