Review for: Departure from the meeting point

Glad we took this trip on a weekend since we were able to visit Karato Market. We were able to try tried Fugu and the sushi choices are very fresh. I loved the Toro Sushi. We were also able to see the different buildings in Mojiko Retro. I was able to marvel on its architecture. This is our 5th visit in Japan but it's our first time visiting a Japanese castle. Kokura Castle is a very good castle first castle. It has interactive activities that will keep you immersed. I also liked our visit to Miyajidake Shrine. It is very peaceful and one with nature. I also would like to commend our tour guide. My mother and I were the only two non-Chinese speaking members of the group but the tour guide was very helpful with us.

This trip was with family and one child, departing from Fukuoka. Our tour guide, LINA, was very considerate, arranging our seats in the front row (because we had a child) and caring for all the tour members. She diligently introduced the attractions and shared about life in Japan 🇯🇵 along the way, allowing tour members to gain a deeper understanding. The itinerary was packed, starting from Mojiko (architecture with a retro style), a 5-minute boat ride to the lively Karato Market (eating tempura 🍤 and sashimi), Kokura Castle (magnificent architecture, moat, and beautiful red maple leaves along the way), Miyajidake Shrine ⛩️ (the seasonal Path of Light is very beautiful). It was a very fulfilling trip, and my family was very satisfied. I would definitely join again if I have the opportunity. It was fantastic! 👏👏👏

I had an amazing experience on this tour! Our guide, Helen, was incredibly helpful, knowledgeable, and attentive to everyone’s needs. She went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and fully enjoyed every stop on the itinerary. Her explanations were clear and insightful, and she always had a warm smile that made the whole trip even more pleasant. You can really tell she’s passionate about what she does. Highly recommend this tour, especially if you’re lucky enough to have Helen as your guide!

The itinerary was wonderful, not rushed, and allowed us to properly enjoy each stop. We were also very fortunate to have an incredibly kind guide and driver, "Xiao Te." Initially, the weather wasn't great, with light rain, but the guide meticulously made slight adjustments to the itinerary, allowing us to take beautiful photos when the weather cleared up. We were in a small group of four, but the guide was still extremely dedicated and not at all negligent. Along the way, he provided very detailed introductions to the classic history, reminded us of small details to pay attention to, and recommended delicious food. This is definitely a benefit that you can't get from independent travel, and it enriched this trip. Thank you very much!

Our tour leader, Ms. Yang, was very kind in sharing all the information about the attractions we visited today. She also shared recommendations for delicious food, fun activities, and great shopping spots in Fukuoka. More importantly, she explained Japanese customs and culture. Ms. Yang also emphasized that everyone was very lucky today to encounter a rare festival, the bean-throwing demon exorcism*, called "Setsubun." Traditionally, it is believed that evil spirits and demons are generated at the changing of the seasons. In order to welcome the new year without illness or disaster, beans are thrown on Setsubun to drive the demons out and invite good fortune in, with the saying "Demons out, fortune in." We were so lucky! 👍

A relaxed itinerary with great locations! 👍 Mojiko is a nostalgic and pleasant place to stroll. Taking a boat 🚤 across the Kanmon Straits to Karato Market, Shunpanro, and Akama Shrine is well worth it. It's a pity that Kokura Castle had neither cherry blossoms nor autumn leaves. The Road of Light at Miyajidake Shrine offers a delightful surprise when you look back. There's a short flight of stairs to climb, which might be a little tough for the elderly. Also, after seeing the main hall's shimenawa rope, don't miss the Seven Lucky Gods and Inari Shrine... worth a visit. The time allocated for all three destinations is ample, allowing you to stroll and savor each place at your own pace. Just be prepared to use your leg strength and stamina throughout the day! 💪

Awesome! Two different journeys over two days created the best memories of my first trip to Japan. In particular, the location selection was very reasonable, and each tour offered enough free time. Light photography, relaxed shopping, strolling through slow-paced courtyards, pavilions, and streets, watching the local customs and people flow by – that feeling is incomparable to the hurried, checklist-driven tours that rush you onto the bus. Especially the enthusiastic Lina, with her straightforward manner, provided us with great help. "Don't go there, it's a rip-off!" "The persimmons here are hard to eat raw, they're for making dried persimmons, don't buy them!" "This is cheaper than in my country, check it out." "Beef intestines are oily, but delicious." In addition to the laughter, it was very memorable. Goodbye, Fukuoka, goodbye, Lina, we'll meet again someday.

This was the only route I found after a long search that goes to Miyajigoku. Next to Karato Market is Kameyama Hachimangu Shrine, which has a beautiful limited-edition cherry blossom Goshuin! The cherry blossoms at Kokura Castle were also quite lovely, and with a shrine nearby, I could collect another Goshuin. Finally, the Miyajigoku Goshuin was absolutely gorgeous!!! The notebooks were also super nice; I bought the gold and cherry blossom ones I'd been wanting! This trip was perfect! Our guide, Wang Fang, was very professional and enthusiastic, and the driver was also excellent. I'll definitely come back during the autumn foliage season this year!
