  • First stop: Zao Juhyo - Looking for the wonders of the “Snow Monster” Zao Mountain in winter is like a dream, with juhyo known as the “Snow Monster” covering the entire mountain forest. The natural art here originates from the unique ice and snow landscape formed by the dry Siberian monsoon hitting the Aomori pine. Take the cable car to rise one stop at a time, and you can see the 360° panoramic view. From the foot of the mountain to the top of the mountain, it is decorated with crystal juhyo, as if you are in a fairy tale world of ice and snow. Our guide, Carter Sasaki is just fabulous! He's friendly and easily approachable, and has been very patient and most helpful throughout the entire trip. He's very passionate in his job and consistently delivers the best customer service. He ensures that we enjoy ourselves during the trip and making wonderful memories by recommending the best spots for photo taking, what to do and buy, etc. I've never met such a dedicated and committed guide in all my travels. I would definitely go on Carter's guided tours again.

If you want to travel independently but visit attractions with inconvenient transportation, the best way is to join a group, a one-day or two-day tour! This time I chose a two-day tour to Tohoku (departing from Tokyo). Unfortunately, we were unable to reach the top of the mountain when we arrived at Zao. We were arranged to take the Central Cable Car instead, and the tour guide refunded the difference! The hot spring hotel at night looked very historic, but it had everything it should have. The only drawback was that the open-air baths were not open! On the second day, we arrived at Ginzan Onsen early and quickly took the shuttle bus. We didn't have to wait too long in the wind and snow. We went to Ouchijuku in the afternoon. Although the journey was a bit long, it was worth it to see the beautiful scenery. The driver's driving skills were very good, and the ride was very comfortable. The tour guide Xiao Hu also served everyone wholeheartedly! If you want to travel to Northeast China, you may wish to refer to this itinerary👌

I would like to participate in this trip again next time. Thank you to the tour guide for carefully arranging it so that we can see Ginzan Hot Spring at night. Although it is only a short street, Ginzan Hot Spring is really beautiful. In Ouchi-juku, there wasn’t much snow this time, so I couldn’t see the snow-covered roofs with my own eyes, but the weather was really not bad. During the two-day and one-night trip, I stayed at a hot spring inn. It was my first experience in a traditional Japanese inn. The room was very big, the bed was very comfortable, and there were hot springs to soak in. I felt that the trip was worth it. An unexpected incident, about a 10-minute walk away, there is a 7-11 that actually sells Jiikawa Ichiban. Haha, how could you not try it when you see it? On the last day, it snowed during the gathering⛄️, I was so happy~ On the way to Zao Juhyo, the snow scenery along the way was really exciting. Long distance travel; travel duration becomes longer due to snow storm. Missed the ouchijuku and the 2nd ropeway of Zao Juhyo due to snow. 10 min stay in Ginza onsen, very rush trip as need to walk along slippery path back the assembly point. Suggest to have hotel stay in Ginzan onsen and enjoy the scenic view.
