What to expect
Hakone Shrine, founded around 757, is famous as a place of worship for many military commanders. Many travelers who visit Hakone also come here to pray for a safe journey. Today, it still attracts many tourists to visit the Treasure Hall, where you can learn about the history of the shrine, and the "Heiwa Torii" set on Lake Ashi.
The Izu Cactus Zoo, which opened in 1959, grows about 1,500 species of cacti and succulents from all over the world. It is also famous for "capybaras bathing in open-air hot springs." While enjoying the early spring flowers, don't miss the original capybara open-air hot spring show!
Omuroyama is a dormant volcano and the prototype of the meteorite crater in Makoto Shinkai's movie "Your Name". From March to May, the cherry blossoms and spring flowers at the foot of the mountain bloom, and the weather is warm and pleasant, making it a good time for outdoor activities.

Our day trip to Izu had its ups and downs. While the driver showcased patience and friendliness, there were notable areas for improvement. His driving skills led me and my family to a nauseating experience. I do not usually have motion sickness but I had it this time. Moreover, the absence of explanations about the attractions throughout the tour was disappointing. It felt more like paying for transportation rather than a guided experience. Additionally, the driver had difficulties finding the entrance to one of the attractions. Despite these shortcomings, the attractions themselves, such as Mount Omuro and Izu Shaboten zoo, offered delightful experiences. Interacting with the animals was particularly enjoyable. While the driver's amiable demeanor is commendable, increasing his experience and knowledge of the attractions could significantly enhance future trips.
Guide and transport was good. Would suggest that the plum garden visit can be omit since it’s already past the plum blossom season(we visited on 6Apr) and there’s nothing much to see at the garden so that guests can spend more time at the zoo and Mount Omuro.
I am very grateful to Mr. Li, the tour guide and driver. There was an accident on the road on the way back, so he quickly turned to another road and connected to the road. Although most of this tour is spent on transportation, the scenery and the park are beautiful and it is worth joining! ! !
The driver is enthusiastic and has very good driving skills. He can drive smoothly even on rugged mountain roads.
