We stayed there for 3 nights…Every day our trash bins are clean as well as the towels were changed every day…We slept comfortably…The location was the best since it’s in the center or the district and it’s near the MTR stations…

I usually stay at Chungking Mansions as a budget traveler, but this time I decided to try Golden Island Hotel in Yau Ma Tei. The room was noticeably bigger compared to the ones I’ve stayed in at Chungking Mansions, which was a pleasant surprise. While prices have increased since my last visit to Hong Kong two years ago, the hotel was good enough for a comfortable rest. The rooms were cleaned daily, and fresh towels were provided every day. However, note that no complimentary water was provided, so plan accordingly. One downside was the noise at night from people outside the room. I’m not sure if they were guests or staff, but it did disturb the peace a bit. Overall, I would recommend Golden Island Hotel for budget travelers seeking a clean and comfortable place to stay in Yau Ma Tei. It’s a practical choice if you’re not too fussy and just need a good night’s rest.
