Things to do in Bukchon Hanok Village

Our group of four joined the Namsan Valley standard group tour. Since we had foreign friends with us, we chose an English-speaking guide. Our female guide, Anna, was very professional, explained everything clearly, smiled throughout the tour, and was very humorous, making the experience enjoyable. The itinerary included Gyeongbokgung Palace, Bugak Palgakjeong Pavilion, Bukchon Hanok Village, the Korea Ginseng Museum, the War Memorial of Korea, Jogyesa Temple, Tapgol Park, and more. For lunch, she took us to Gwangjang Market to eat delicious Korean pancakes and shop for souvenirs. Finally, at our request, she dropped us off at Seoul Catholic Cathedral, giving us another spot for photos. The tour price was reasonable and included all admission fees and a comfortable air-conditioned mini-bus. If you have limited time during your trip, we highly recommend this one-day tour.

I booked a premium hanbok rental through Klook for me and my husband. Then I booked the makeup and photography through Instagram. Reservation was very easy and they were responsive on Instagram. We came in at a busy time so it was very chaotic at first but the staff were able to help me with the Hanbok fitting, hair, and makeup. The Chandeokgung palace is just a block away and that was where we met up with the photographer and had the photos taken. We only wore the costume for 2-ish hours due to the heat outside. It was a great experience and the photos turned out really great! Another plus is they have 2 really adorable and calm shop cats 🐱. I recommend this shop for Hanbok rentals.

Daniel was so kind and so informative with funny and touching stories for us throughout the day. Lovely guide, lovely day and lovely company. The fortress and folk performance were awesome to see. The Suwon Starfield library and the cave was fun to end the day with. Thank you Daniel!!!

We had a wonderful day with Jenny as our tour guide. It was very hot, and the pace of the tour was quite high! Jenny constantly checked to make sure everyone was doing okay in the heat. Thanks to the fast pace of the tour, we were able to see a lot in one day. Definitely recommended!

I visited right when the store opened, and there was no crowd, so I was smoothly guided in. Even though it was drizzling that day, they said rentals were still possible without any issues! The staff member was incredibly kind and thoughtfully suggested outfit coordinations, providing truly wonderful customer service. They had a wide variety of traditional Korean dresses, from simple to elaborate designs, and many options for hair arrangements and accessories, making the selection process very enjoyable! This shop also provides costumes for idol-related content, so I'm sure you'll find your favorite outfit here!

I had a wonderful experience with Stella as my tour guide! She is incredibly knowledgeable about the history of Korea's royal palaces and brought each place to life with her fascinating stories and insights. Ivy was our guide and did a wonderful job! It was a good mix of classic and modern Korean history and culture. Ivy also went out of her way to communicate and give great suggestions for things to do even after the tour was over.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Wonderful Experience I had a great experience and highly recommend this. I was unfortunately late after missing a subway stop and getting lost, but the team was very understanding. The photographer was professional, friendly, and helped me feel comfortable by chatting with me during our walk to the photo locations. Since I was traveling solo, feeling shy, and had just landed that morning with little sleep, I really appreciated his kindness. He guided my poses throughout the shoot, regularly checked if I was happy with the photos, and even encouraged me to speak up if there was anything I didn’t like. I also appreciated the extra time he spent taking additional photos. The staff member who helped me choose my hanbok and style my hair was wonderful and very kind. There were so many beautiful photos to choose from, and the entire experience exceeded my expectations. It was one of the highlights of my solo trip, and I would gladly book again when I return w/ family or friends. 😊
