Reviews
Here are the points I liked: 1. There's a restroom (very important, especially for those who need to use it frequently. It's best to go before putting on the hanbok and before heading out. The store was very kind and allowed us to return to use it mid-way through our outing. Gyeongbokgung Palace actually has restrooms, and they are clearly marked, but sometimes you can still get a bit lost inside. If you're worried, I recommend marking the restrooms on a map beforehand). 2. Easy to find (just use Naver Map to navigate directly; you can also browse shops on the way from Anguk Station). 3. Clothes are in good condition (skirts are very voluminous, no holes, no strange smells). 4. There are about 5 free hairstyles (from what I remember) (all the hairstyles in the pictures below are free. Additional charges, up to 10,000 Korean Won, are only for more elaborate styles like the 'medical lady' style or intricate updos). *********** I purchased the most expensive full-day level. Upon arrival, I could choose from 40,000 Won skirts, which were basically solid-colored or gradient-colored voluminous skirts, a single layer with an additional panel skirt. Since the skirt essentially has two layers, you can still see the hoop skirt's steel frame. If this bothers you, you'll need to pay extra for a higher-tier skirt. There are options for 60,000 Won and 80,000 Won. (The 60,000 Won options include tiered skirts and long tops that cover the stomach, as well as some patterned skirts. The 80,000 Won options have gold trim and some hot-stamped designs, which are really good quality, but probably better for autumn/winter, and also come with stomach-covering tops). If you're not planning to take photos all day, 4 hours is quite enough. It's definitely enough in the summer, as you won't last much longer. I'm quite heat-tolerant, but even on an overcast day, I only lasted about 5 hours before I couldn't take it anymore. We arrived at 11 AM and still found clothes we liked, but earlier might offer more top choices (?). Everyone should consider their own timing. Regarding photography, as per the price list, you can inquire directly at the store. However, it was an overcast day, so we didn't add on a photography package, so I don't know how the photos would have turned out. Many people at Gyeongbokgung Palace hire photographers. If the weather is good and you're in a good mood, you can hire one. They are very good at directing poses and have their own camera angles, so you don't have to find spots or think of poses yourself. Also, there are lockers with keys, so make sure to keep your key safe. In summary, I highly recommend this place and would go again, but not on a hot day.
The rental store offers variety of hanbok which made it harder for us to choose--because they are all pretty. Plus, the store is just right across the entrance of the Gyeongbokgung Palace. Not a long walk. The costume can be a little uncozy to wear during sunny day as they are made of silk so a little less walking to the palace is helpful for a less sweaty experience.
We recently had the chance to try on traditional Hanbok at Gyeongbokgung Palace, and it was truly an unforgettable experience! Booking through Klook was seamless, and it made the entire process so much easier. The Hanbok shop was conveniently located near the palace, and the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. They had a wide range of colorful Hanbok to choose from, with various styles and sizes to suit both men and women. The staff helped us pick the perfect outfits based on our preferences, and they even provided helpful tips on how to wear the Hanbok properly.
We chose to experience Hanbok at around 9 o'clock in the morning. The shop assistants can speak Chinese very well and there is no language communication problem. There are many colors to choose from. The basic braided hair style is very nice and simple. The shop assistant will also match the appropriate color according to the color of Hanbok. The only fly in the ointment about the headgear is that after finishing the Hanbok experience, when I was changing back into my own clothes, there was no lock in the fitting room and only a rope hooking the door. The door curtain was almost lifted by a Western boy who returned the clothes at the same time (the other party obviously did it on purpose, because We also heard laughter and slapstick). Fortunately, my friend standing near the door reacted quickly and immediately scolded me in English. The other party failed to open the door curtain successfully. The safety measures in the fitting room need to be strengthened, or maybe Management must be strengthened in the guest control department, otherwise the scene will be chaotic when too many people want to return clothes at the same time.
Very friendly and helpful staff who managed to help us choose designs for our hanboks. The rental place is nearer to the Palace from Anguk Station, it is pretty convenient as it is just 1 street away from the Palace. The staff knows exactly what we wants and their service is excellent.
After checking the surrounding hanbok shops, this one has the best location, located halfway between Bukchon and Gyeongbokgung Palace. I booked a 4-hour plan, visited Bukchon first, took a break, and then went to Gyeongbokgung Palace. There are many styles of hanbok, many pieces of skirts and tops in various colors, and there are also children's hanbok. We went there at 11 o'clock on weekdays and chose the hanbok we were satisfied with. The clerk helped with changing clothes and tying hair quickly and neatly, and was also very friendly. It comes with basic headwear and hanbok bags. Although the price is higher, it actually includes the hairstyle, hair accessories, and bags, plus the location is so convenient, so it is very cost-effective, highly recommended!
The store is located near the side entrance of the Palace. The place is clean, and their Hanboks are well-maintained. The staff are also very accommodating.
Very satisfied. Location just infront of the palace. We are attended to right away. Polite and accomodating personnel, got upgraded to premium hairstyle. Highly recommended
The shop is near the palace. The staff are very nice and accommodating. The rental hanboks are very nice and I love it! THIS PLACE IS SO WORTH IT ♥️♥️♥️
It was really a great experience! very easy to redeem and won’t take long. The staffs in the hanbok rental is very accomodating as well. They greet and welcomed us, as soon as we enter their store and gave us quick instruction on choose and change our clothes. I also noticed that the styles and color of their hanbok is great and pretty colorful. Plus the girl who help me get my hair done is so nice. This hanbok rental store is highly recommended and it’s just beside the NON FICTION STORE and near the front gate of palace.
