    Blogheader - SOPs Malaysia 4 May 2020
Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin addressed the nation in a live telecast in conjunction with Labour Day this morning. In case you missed out on the speech or did not catch the information in full, we've summarised all the key points that were mentioned as well as guidelines provided in the SOP document released by the Majlis Keselamatan Negara today.
Note: SOP guidelines for specific industries are also being released on the Majlis Keselamatan Negara Facebook Page - head over for more details should it concern you.

    In Summary

    PM Muhyiddin Speech
From the 4th of May (Monday) onwards, most businesses and industries will be allowed to begin operations once again, but will have to obey to a set of SOPs put in place by the authorities.
These SOPs have to be taken seriously to ensure the health and safety of all Malaysians and to avoid further spreading of the Covid-19. Do note that the MCO or other enforcement measures may be implemented once again should there be an increase in cases - so we highly-recommend everybody to practice care and caution at all times even though the Movement Control Order will be somewhat lifted. From 4th May onwards, we'll be stepping into the Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO) phase.

    Details Of The SOP

Here are some guidelines that we should all adhere to as we ease into our new normal daily lives:
    Covid-19 precautions

    1. No gatherings and social activities

    • Gatherings involving large groups of people should be avoided at all costs (e.g: going to the cinema, clubs, stadiums, bazaars, theme parks).
    • Outdoor group sports (in groups of more than 10) that involved body contact are not allowed. You may however carry out sports such as cycling, jogging and golfing individually or in small groups.
    • Social events and religious activities such as open houses, buka puasa events, kenduris and prayers at establishments of worships are prohibited.

    2. Cross-border state travel is not allowed

    • Interstate travel remains banned except for those who have to travel for work purposes or to return to their workplace.
    • Cross-border state travel such as to balik kampung for the purpose of celebrating Hari Raya is prohibited.
    • Those who'd like to apply for an interstate travel permit can do so on the Gerak Malaysia app or at your nearest police station before 6th May 2020. Those approved for interstate travel can do so between 7 - 10 May accordingly to the schedule provided by PDRM.

    3. Please, please continue practicing social distancing

    • Stay at least 1 metre (or 2 metres if you can!) from others at all times, especially when you're out and about.

    4. Maintain a high level of personal hygiene

    • Put on a face mask at all times (make sure you do some reading on how to put it on and take it off properly), especially when commuting to work and also in the office.
    • Wash your hands with soap or hand sanitizer frequently.

    5. A note for employers and business owners

    • Offices and businesses are highly encouraged to provide necessities such as hand sanitizers and masks for their employees, customers and clients.
    • Business premises should be sanitized and cleaned frequently and consistently, at least twice a day.
    • A standard protocol for keeping checks on the health condition of all employees should be put in place (e.g: daily temperature checks), and any related information about Covid-19 cases should be reported immediately to the Health Ministry.
    • Training should be provided to your employees on how to observe their environment and act promptly should there be a suspected case of Covid-19 around them.
    • The government advises employers to put in place flexible working arrangements to avoid crowding (e.g: scheduled shifts, allowing employees to work on alternate days).
    • Public sector employees are advised to continue working from home unless their work requires them to be in the office.

    6. SOP for dining out

    • Eateries will be allowed to open for dine-in customers upon strict adherence of rules set by the authorities.
    • Tables will have to be set at 2 metres apart from each other, with ample walking space for employees and customers in between.
    • Customers can sit in groups of one, two or three depending on the size of the table.
    • Social distancing must also be practiced at the payment counters (with lines drawn on the floor).
    • Restaurants have to provide sufficient hand sanitisers, soap and table disinfectants.

    7. The 10KM radius limit has been lifted

    • The 10km radius restriction has been lifted, and Malaysians can now travel beyond 10km for work or to purchase food, essentials or seek medical attention.
    • You can now get around in a private vehicle with a maximum of four family members from the same household.

Download Contact Tracing Apps To Help Our Health Officials

    MySejahtera App
The government has created apps that can be downloaded on your smartphones to facilitate contact tracing. Through these apps, our health officials can better monitor the outbreak situation and take quick action to avoid further spreading of the Covid-19. The apps are available on PlayStore and the Appstore, so do download them if you can: MySejahtera & MyTrace. Do remember that we're all in this together and the curbing of the Covid-19 is our shared responsibility as Malaysians. :)
Stay safe and take good care of yourself and your loved ones!
