BTS is here to save you from boredom this quarantine period!
While we all do our part and stay indoors as much as we can, after two weeks in quarantine, it’s likely that your list of things to do has gotten pretty lean. So if you’ve been marathoning every K-Drama on Netflix the past few days, K-Pop group BTS just released a video series that might be of interest to you!
BTS is proving to us once again that they can pretty much do anything, and this time, their new series will showcase just how fun learning Korean really is! Whether or not you’re riding on the BTS train (if you aren’t, well then you should), how great would it be to use this time in quarantine to learn a new language?
‘Learn Korean with BTS’ Web series
You will no longer have to daydream about RM teaching you hangul, or Jungkook telling you you’ve done a good job, because now we have ‘Learn Korean with BTS’!
The aptly named web series was produced and developed by Hankuk University professor Heo Yong along with the Korean Language Content Institute. The web series, which launched last March 24, is available on the weverse social media app and is free for anyone who signs up and creates an account.
“The series is designed to make it easy and fun for global fans who have difficulty enjoying BTS’ music and contents due to the language barrier.” Bit Hit Entertainment’s founder Bang Si-Hyuk said in a broadcast. He continued further saying that by involving artist content into Korean learning media, it’ll be a more rewarding and immersive experience for the fans.
The webs series will consist of 30 three-minute episodes, to be released every Monday at 9:00 KST on the weverse social app. The first three episodes of the series are already up on the app, so fans and viewers can already kickstart their language classes!
Each episode will tackle a range of topics - from vocabulary to common phrases and grammar. To effectively teach these fundamentals to its viewers, developers used footage from BTS' reality show and Youtube series Run BTS! and Bangtan Bombs and reassembled these to highlight commonly used phrases and expressions.
Thanks to BTS, you’ll be speaking Korean fluently in no time!
