What to expect
Egg coffee is likely the world's most iconic cafe drink. Invented in 1946 by Nguyen Van Giang during the Indochina War when dairy was in short supply, it was a huge success. It is world famous now for its unique creamy sweetness. the process is remarkably creative. We share it here
All the coffee used are of the strong flavourful Vietnamese Robusta brewed in the traditional way and used in various coffee specialties which you learn to make by doing and tasting your creations
It all happens right in the middle of Old Town at Cafe Minh meters away from the Ta Hien Beer Gardens. After class, feel free to stay to enjoy and compare your creations on our balcony or open front sidewalk area. A great day any way you go.

Xin Cao - we just loved this egg coffee class ! it was a vibrant one. we shared with Taiwanese tourist. it was fun to learn the history of this egg coffee which originated from Hanoi in the 1940s. the taste ain't bad too ;))
Really enjoyed the egg coffee making session with teacher Lena despite it was a solo session as I took the earliest slot. Highly recommended for those who loves coffee n want a more interesting activity in the trip.
We took a coffee-making class on our last day in Vietnam, just before our flight, and it was an incredible experience. The ambiance was quiet and inviting, creating the ideal setting for learning. Situated on Beer Street, the cafe has a unique vibe that enhances the class. The cozy atmosphere, paired with Jennifer's exceptional instruction, made the day truly memorable. I highly recommend it for anyone interested in the class.
A must do for coffee lovers. Our group of three were the only attendees for our timeslot ao it became a private session. Ms. Ha was very effective in imparting her knowledge and skills in making egg coffee as well as brown and white coffee. We also enjoyed the cyclo tour of the old quarter area.
I went with my group of friends and we thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The class was facilitated by Ms. Ha and we got to learn more then just the process of coffee making. We also learned about the Vietnamese culture and some history. It is also a fun way to meet new people.
It was such a great experience. There’s tea and banana chips while waiting for the class to start. Chloe’s instructions were clear. We got to learn how to make egg coffee, brown coffee, and white coffee. We drank the ones we made so be ready for 3 rounds of coffee as well. 😁
The class is upstairs at the location. Chloe was our teacher and she was great at explaining and showing us what to do. You actually learn to make 3 coffees so be ready for a lot of caffeine! We added on the puppet show which started at the end of our class. It is only a 5 minute walk away and Chole escorted us over and made sure we got in okay. She is the best!!!
ms. ha was an excellent teacher. she explained in detail the history of coffee in vietnam and taught us how to make different kinds such as egg coffee, brown coffee, and white coffee. highly recommend this class to anyone visiting hanoi!
I'm not a coffee lover and very seldom drink coffee. I booked this class to experience how to make egg coffee, which originated in Hanoi. Ms. Ha, our teacher, was very dedicated and excellent teacher in teaching us how to make egg coffee as well as 3 other coffee (black, white, brown). She explained every detail and was very much willing to answer questions. Very nice experience! The group I joined in this class was also great, making the overall experience wonderful.
It was a fun experience. Ha was very thorough in explaining the overview of coffee production in Vietnam, the history of egg coffee, and the proper way of drinking coffee. After making egg coffee with us, we also made brown and white coffee. From time to time she would also ask us about our stay and Vietnam. She taught us some Vietnamese expressions as well. Recommended!
