The boat was very clean and well kept, provided pizza, snacks and drinks too! even if we didn't catch any squids, it was a fun experience. it was cut short a bit howeverz we came back to the pier 20 min before 11, and some of the fishing hoods were quite rusty
In July of the new calendar (June of the lunar calendar) these days the chances of catching cuttlefish are relatively high. Having said that, the wind was finished a few days before the departure, and the location of the cuttlefish fishing was Tseung Kwan O, so one had to be mentally prepared to catch not many. I still remember the first time I caught cuttlefish in Sai Kung a long time ago, each person could get a bucket of harvest; the second time I went fishing, I couldn’t catch a single one, so it is not inevitable to catch cuttlefish. This time fishing in Tseung Kwan O is also mentally prepared, I am afraid that the children will not be happy if they can't catch it. In the end, I was lucky to catch a few, and they were not small. I finally had a happy experience of catching cuttlefish. Having said that, the itinerary and service are good this time, roll call at the pier on time and board the ship, the interior of the ship is tidy, and the crew of the ship is very nice. This experience includes snacks and drinks (not as a meal, you will be hungry when you get off the boat and return to the house). There are pizza, potato chips, biscuits individually wrapped marshmallows, paper wrapped drinks and bottled water. On the day of departure, another low pressure was formed. Along the way, the beautiful scenery at sunset and dusk was unobtrusive. In just half an hour, it changed from bright red to salted egg yolk, mixed with different cloud states, and red and blue alternated into purple clouds. Turning to darkness, the scenery of Victoria Harbor adds a mysterious and intoxicating color. 😌 When we arrived in Tseung Kwan O, everyone started to fish for cuttlefish. The catch was about 10:00, and the boatman had already handled the cuttlefish. All the cuttlefish are cooked once and cooked three times, so that all participants can taste it together, even if they can't catch it, they can eat it. The boatman praises us, the boatman is so powerful, and the squid in the dish is a big dish! There was one person on the boat who was lucky enough to catch more than a dozen of them in the whole process, even if she was around her, she couldn't catch them. See how good she is! After eating, the boatman let us choose to bring them back by ourselves, or stay on the boat and wait for him to deal with them... Before collecting the fishing tackle at 10:00, I caught fruit sticks (cuttlefish in the photo) and returned them with me as souvenirs The house is down. 😄 There were two or three big waves when berthed in Tseung Kwan O, which caused the boat to throw away. Adults should pay attention to the safety of the children in the same boat! Fortunately, there were only two or three big waves throughout the night, otherwise I don't know if I would be accompanied by seasick waves and fall off the boat. 😅 At 10:30 the boat sailed back to Central Pier 9. What a night! 🤩
Very happy event! The boat is spacious with deck and air- conditioning interior space. It can fit up to 40 guests per trip. The view along the harbour was stunning, best to go at sunset time and enjoy the night Victoria harbour science when coming back. Definitely will join again. Thank you!
The service provided by the two uncles was very good, the boat was new, clean and sanitary, and the food quality was high. It is recommended that before you start fishing for cuttlefish, you should first "slowly" explain the fishing method clearly, and it is best to add a real person demonstration before taking out the fishing gear and distributing it, so as to increase the success rate and avoid confusion. There is a staircase on the boat when getting on and off the boat, which is very dangerous! I fell down when I was getting off the boat (it was dark), it was really embarrassing! It is recommended to put up fluorescent paper and give verbal reminders from time to time. This is most dangerous for the elderly, pregnant women and children! However, boating and squid fishing are really fun, and are also a major feature of Hong Kong, and should be well preserved. I didn’t expect there is cuttlefish fishing in Tseung Kwan O. It is more convenient, cleaner and quieter than Sai Kung. I will go there again next year!
It was a very pleasant event. The boatman was very fond of river prawns. Each person had 1 piece of pizza and 1 pack of drinks. There were a lot of cuttlefish, and almost everyone would catch one. The boat owner taught us how to adjust it very carefully, and also cooked it impromptu for us to try. The view of Victoria Harbor is beautiful, and there are air-conditioned seats on board, which is very comfortable.
Wait at the pier for someone holding a pizza standing upright and the Klook logo. Get a number and follow the staff to board the boat. It takes 40-50 minutes to reach the fishing spot. The sunset and night view of Hong Kong alone are worth the trip. Fishing lasts about 2 hours after arriving at the fishing spot. In the beginning, squid don't gather much, so don't wear yourself out. After 20-30 minutes, you can start catching squid and fish that gather around the light. Surprisingly, a lot of fish are caught. The captain and assistant only speak Cantonese and a little Chinese, but it's not a big problem even if you don't know Cantonese. If the captain and assistant shout loudly in Cantonese, stop what you're doing and focus on where the sound is coming from to understand the situation. Hear a loud noise? Someone is reeling in a squid! Hear another loud noise? The squid is cooked, let's eat! A word of caution: If you hear the captain shouting loudly while the boat is moving, it's a warning signal for dangerous waves. It's safest to just sit down when the boat is moving. You'll be back around 11 PM. Aside from the late hour and tiredness, there's no time to be bored. If you don't catch squid diligently, you'll have to fill up on pizza, bread, and drinks. Kids love it, but some adults suffer from seasickness. Personally, I say it's great!
The captain was friendly and polite, caring and attentive, and taught us the proper techniques. We had a great experience and had a great harvest! They also prepared fresh pizza, food, drinks and water, and cooked the squid we caught to share, which was very delicious!
The price of 4 hours is super value, but due to personal technical problems, I can’t hook the cuttlefish🦑, I just go out to cruise the river to see the night view of the Tseung Kwan O bridge.
Nice event! Sister klook called the name at the pier, and then boarded the boat with the boatman to go fishing for cuttlefish. There were 40 people in a boat, and they fished for about 2 hours. Not many were caught, but it was fun!
nice and relaxing trip
