For your Rafting trip, choose our Northern Exposure tour for more snorkelling, or Southern Lights for more time at Whitehaven beach.
If you wish to focus mainly on snorkelling then we suggest the Northern Exposure tour, or if you wish to spend more time at the beach, we suggest the Southern Lights tour. The tour from Airlie Beach to Whitehaven Beach can take between 1 – 1.5 hours depending on wind, tide, swell and weather conditions.
Good to know
- A surcharge of AUD20 per adult, AUD10 per child, and AUD50 per family (2 adults and 2 children) will apply for Northern Exposure, Southern Lights, and Fly Raft if the tour is scheduled on Australian public holidays such as Christmas, New Year’s Day, Easter long weekend, and so on, payable onsite

I joined the Great Barrier Reef helicopter tour and the Whitsunday Island National Park & snorkeling activities. I really loved it—the experience was amazing, and every staff member was super friendly. We enjoyed stunning views from both the boat and the flight. The staff were incredibly friendly and well-organized, and my partner and I had a fantastic time.
The scenic flight was the best choice for this tour. We traveled from Sydney for it, and it was the best hour. It's truly so beautiful. The boat tour was also long, and the route was enjoyable. However, we did the boat tour on a cloudy day, so the views for snorkeling and the walking trail were a bit disappointing. If it's raining or cloudy on your booked date, I recommend quickly changing your reservation date two days in advance. We had requested a date change in advance because we thought the scenic flight tour would be difficult due to strong winds and rain, but we received no response. Ultimately, we were notified on the day of the tour that the scenic flight was canceled. However, we were surprised to be told that neither a schedule change nor a refund was possible. I definitely recommend doing this on a clear day. Somehow, we managed to do both, and the tour was truly excellent. After the tour, if you relax on a mat or swim at Airlie Beach and then have dinner and drinks at a beachside bar, you'll have an absolutely perfect day.
The Great Barrier Reef is really beautiful. When we were approaching the Heart-shaped Reef, the captain was counting down for us through his headphones. It was pretty cute, haha. Whitehaven Beach is beautiful. Although the weather was not very good and the boat was a bit bumpy, it was exciting. The crew was also very friendly and kept the atmosphere going.
Absolutely the BEST DAY of my life!! Not only Nathan and Carson were the best rafting tour guide, they secretly helped my partner with the proposal of a lifetime at Hill Inlet. I never felt so happy, I was shaking 💍. The day could not have started even better with the beautiful weather and seeing the Heart Shape reef and Hill Inlet from the sky 💙 The snorkeling and lunch at Whitehaven beach were loads of fun!
