Reviews
This tour is mainly catered towards locals, so the guide will explain more in Vietnamese, followed by basic English. The guide is super attentive. The sceneries are stunning but be prepared for long bus rides. Most attractions are easily a 2-3hr ride from the main town. The food is delicious and the rooms for both nights though basic, are clean. There is hot shower available at the homestay and it was a unique experience for city kids to be staying in the hills. Another point to note is that Vietnamese loved to sing! They expressed their thanks, appreciations all through songs! So there will be karaoke sessions during the bus rides, it’s my first experience too. Recommended for the experience and scenic views, though can be a little tiring due to long bus rides.
Great excursion! The program is great—I was especially impressed by the waterfall! There was good accommodation, a cheerful and sociable group, the guide did not speak English, but sent all the instructions through a translator on WhatsApp, there were no problems. And in general, it turned out to be such a friendly weekend trip with a gastronomic focus—lunches and dinners were great, we completely immersed ourselves in the local flavor. I recommend this tour and this company, everything went great! We parted as friends🤗
I traveled with local Vietnamese people, and they all took good care of me and were friendly, so I made good memories. Even though the guide was not good at English, he did his best to be considerate and we were provided with vegetarian food separately. It was great to be able to travel with local Vietnamese people to Ba Be Lake and Ban Jig Waterfall, which are not well known to Koreans and European tourists. The travel time is quite long, but it is satisfactory if you like nature. I am a Korean woman traveling alone, but everyone took good care of me like family.
Chen was an amazing guide. Even though the tour is mainly for locals, he will still try explain to non-vietnamese joiners in English. We were blessed with good weather and all the tour destinations were beautiful. Also for the included meals, my impression is that we will just have simple meals but no, every meal is a feast, and you will pretty much have a taste of a lot of Vietnamese cuisine. The accomodations are also good. Overall, the tour is highly recommended. Even the Vietnamese locals who joined the tour are also friendly, which made the tour much more enjoyable for me who is a solo traveller.
We booked the tour to Ban gioc even though it was available in the Vietnamese language only. Ban gioc is a place that one should not miss I would say. The tour is very well planned with good food & stay options. Also A special mention to our Tour guide Hieu who was amazing throughout the trip. Even though he did not speak much English he made sure everything was smooth for us. We were the only non- Vietnamese people in the group but Hieu made sure to send all instructions on chat by using Google translate & made sure we were taken care of all the time Thank you Hieu, you're a superstar. Thank you PYS travel for a great trip. Definitely recommended!
I joined this tour as the only foreign traveler in the group, but the guides took great care of me throughout the trip and made me feel very comfortable. The itinerary was long because of the mountain roads, but every destination was worth it — especially Pác Bó, Lenin Stream, Ban Gioc Waterfall, and Ba Be Lake. The guide who personally helped me was very kind and thoughtful, and the driver handled the long mountain routes safely and professionally. I was able to experience both the beautiful nature and the local atmosphere of Northern Vietnam. It was a memorable trip, and I truly appreciate the effort of the team. Highly recommended for anyone who wants to explore the real beauty of Northern Vietnam.
My 3D2N Ba Be - Ban Gioc tour from Hanoi went smoothly and followed the itinerary perfectly. True to the reviews, the tour catered more to local tourists, which gave me the rare chance to interact closely with Vietnamese people from both the north and south. I was lucky to be joined by three warm families and a solo traveler from the south who could speak English—her help in translating made the trip even more meaningful. The families looked after me like their own, making this tour not only about Vietnam’s stunning landscapes but also its incredible hospitality. The food throughout was delicious and generous. Bac Kan is a hidden gem—less touristy but full of charm. While the hotel there wasn’t too fancy, it was clean and comfortable. In contrast, the hotel in Cao Bang was really nice. I requested a separate room and was pleasantly surprised with a spacious and beautifully kept one. Ban Gioc Waterfall, although not at peak flow during my visit, still looked majestic. It was a bit touristy due to the holiday, but well worth it. This trip was a beautiful blend of nature, culture, and genuine human connection.
Nice trip, to see the beautiful waterfall shared between China and Vietnam. The trip is explained in Vietnamese, if you do not understand, you can ask the guide.
if you want to experience Vietnamese culture people food and landscape this is for you. food was fit for kings and Queens. (never ate so well before). we are english speaking only tourists managed to get by. Chien was an amazing guide helped take care of my mum he went above and beyond. we couldn't be more greatful. pre warning bus trip is long the roads not suitable for people whom are prone to travel sickness. as we were English tourists only we did miss out on alot of information about areas along our drive but that's expected being on Vietnamese tour only. extremely rewarding trip.
The journey in the van is very long however they are frequent stops at rest areas. The meals are very heavy and very long. Would have been better if we were to get given longer time to enjoy beauty of the cave & waterfall, instead of just go to take a few pictures at the popular location and go off. The guide can't speak English but he tries to communicate using Google translate the important details.
