Reviews
I love this hiking. The driver get us early and drive safety to the small town. We are lucky to have a good weather after the raining days before. Guide is helpful. He follow us on every steps. 1600m is not easy but we made it. A good lunch is a wonderful mark after hiking. Must try if you plan 1/2 day for hiking.
Amazing pick up by our driver William who explains our queries and give us accurate details of the hike while driving us safe to the start of the adventure . Nice climb for one with regular fitness and takes about 2hrs with photo stops. Else about to summit on less than 1.5hrs. Not a tough hike: Rode on a 4x4 to the start of the trail head was an experienced
Loved the experience hiking in Maragang Hill! ❤️ Definitely recommended for those going to Kota Kinabalu 😁
Driver and guide were amazing. We felt very well taken care of throughout the trip. The hike is relatively easy and very doable if you have hiking sticks and a pair of good grip shoes. We don't even exercise regularly and are overweight. View is definitely worth the short hike! We were given the option to have breakfast at kundasang or lunch at KK. Opted to have breakfast since we didn't eat much prior to the climb. Definitely one of a must do if you cannot climb Mt KK but still wanna experience a beginner hike!
An unforgettable experience. Going up the mountain in a 4x4 is so exciting. It takes about two hours to go up the mountain. The tour guide will adapt to our pace. The scenery at the top of the mountain is first-class. The restaurant after coming down is very satisfying. We have a private breakfast with a mountain view breakfast. just!
The experience of hiking is unique, research suggests, conveying benefits beyond what you receive from typical exercise. Not only does it oxygenate your heart, it helps keep your mind sharper, your body calmer, your creativity more alive, and your relationships happier. I did enjoyed the moment of hiking. It was a great experience!
I applied for the Mara River Hill Tour because it seemed that the cost and physical strength were not enough for Mount Kinabalu for 2 days and 1 night, and I was very satisfied! The 2,232-meter climb was really good, like walking in a forest. It may seem expensive, but two guides take care of 4 people! The lunch provided is also delicious! Both the pick-up and guide were very kind and nice! I left my hiking sticks at the last shelter, but the guide found them. It's slippery because the floor is wet because it starts climbing early in the morning. It's better than anything else!!!
Overall experience is pleasant. All smooth and weather is also good. Might be challenging for those with weak knees. Prep knee guard and trekking stick
This climb is perfect for beginners. For more experienced trekkers it will take much lesser time but the view is perfect on a clear day. It can be very cold but it will be get hot at the end. Wear trek shoes as it can be very muddy. Our guide Harli was perfect as he knows the trek well and he also does bird watching. Thus, he is able to spot things that normally it is very difficult for everyone. At the peak our guide was the only one that found a snake sunbathing. 10/10 would recommend
Because the weather was good, I didn't use hiking poles at all. I honestly don't think it's a very difficult mountain to climb, though some sections require very large steps, so hiking poles would make it a bit easier. The temperature on the mountain is lower in the early morning, so remember to wear a jacket when you go up! From the summit, you can see the full view of the sacred mountain bathed in sunlight, which is incredibly beautiful. If I have the chance, I'd love to experience watching the sunrise. If needed, you can also rent wooden hiking poles at the base of the mountain for 3 Malaysian Ringgit each.
