In autumn, head to Hieizan Enryakuji Temple, a World Heritage Site, and experience Japan's most solemn autumn colors amidst the ancient temple and mountains of autumn leaves. In winter, take a cable car to Biwako Valley, and experience the pure scenery unique to winter amidst the snow-white plateau and panoramic views of Lake Biwa.
