Malu taught us incredibly well! She not only explained each step of sharpening our knives but the “why” and the history behind knife/sword craftsmanship in Japan. Had a great time learning and plan to sharpen all our knives with the recommended 1000 grit whetstone.
Patrick, Will, and France were so helpful and encouraging throughout the entire process. They were knowledgeable about the technique as well as the history of Japanese knives. They even provided food recommendations and pictures! It was a great experience, and now we have knives to use daily that will remind us of our time!
awesome class. wife wasn’t excited about doing it, but after the class, she was grateful. now she’s able to sharpen her own knife. coming home with her own personal knife was icing on her cake.😂🤙🏽

great workshop that showed us how to sharpen a blade. great hands on experience. Malu our expert teacher was very clear and concise. We got walnut handles with our own engraving. what a Kyoto momento!!
