Half-Day Private Guided Snorkeling Tour in Gili Islands Lombok

We contacted them via WhatsApp beforehand, and they were able to adjust our tour departure time to 6:30 AM to coincide with sunrise. Their willingness to accommodate us was very helpful! It's best to depart early. The underwater statue spot, in particular, seems to get crowded, but when we visited, there were only two other groups. It seems that early morning is the only time you can dive and take photos one person at a time. The staff repeatedly dove down to take photos and videos for us, making it a highly satisfying tour! This time, we chose the 4-hour plan, which included one hour of relaxing on Meno Island beach. Honestly, if you only want to spend time snorkeling, I think the 2-hour plan would be perfectly enjoyable as well.

I had a wonderful trip exploring the beautiful spots of Gili with Captain Ari! I made a reservation for around 8 AM, as I heard it gets crowded later, and we departed from Gili T. Before boarding the boat, we rented essential gear like flippers and masks, which we used throughout the day. The weather was great, the sea was clear, and the sun was shining brightly, allowing us to see right through the water. I had been a bit worried about seasickness, but the boat was smooth with no major rocking. Upon reaching our first spot, I put on my flippers and sat on the edge of the boat before entering the water. I was surprised that the water wasn't cold at all! As soon as I got in, I saw a turtle right away... it was the best, I loved it so much. Since the bottom is sandy, it's best to avoid touching it with your feet as much as possible to keep the visibility clear and swim with the turtles. If you keep swimming further, following the captain, you'll gradually see more fish – that's the Blue Coral spot. There were so many different kinds of fish around us that weren't present near the shore, and it was truly beautiful. I only know how to look at fish and don't know how to take photos underwater. But the captain guided me, telling me where to swim, and helped me capture these moments with amazing photos. Afterward, we took the boat to the Gili Meno statues, where I was also able to get great photos thanks to him. Even though I had tried to time it right, there were more people than I expected, making it hard to find a good moment to dive. But the captain signaled to me, helping me get the perfect timing. Being a veteran, he even dove with us to the Gili Meno Nest statues, 5 meters deep, to take pictures. Since there were two of us, he made sure to take photos of us diving separately and together, ensuring we got good shots. He also used his own GoPro equipment to take photos and videos, so we received very clear and vivid pictures and footage. (It's a shame that the review only allows uploading 3MB per photo, so I had to use lower-quality images.) Thanks to him, I was able to visit all the places I wanted to see in Gili and create many lasting memories. Thank you so much!

Wonderful experience! We got to see amazing seabeds, lots of turtles and fish. It was thrilling!! The skippers are very attentive and accompany you throughout the tour. They are also very helpful with advice and needs. If you are in Gili Trawangan, you can't miss this experience!!

During our honeymoon visit to Gili Island, we were able to see the beautiful sea, amazing coral reefs, and a variety of fish and turtles. Jo and Ari were excellent guides. They diligently searched for spots where we could see turtles and enthusiastically took videos and photos for us. It must have been tiring for them for two hours, but they were kind and helpful until the end. I hope others can also have a happy experience with them.

I’m lucky enough to have a patient guide who helped me through snorkeling 🤿 I’m really not good at swimming, and honestly… I was scared too. But Abang guided me all the way, and I was lucky enough to see a sea turtle 🐢✨ My little tip: bring your own snorkeling gear for a better experience 🤿🌊

My husband and I, who can't swim at all, were so grateful to Ari and Win for helping us enjoy snorkeling comfortably and safely. They even pointed out the turtle spot and tried their best to take various photos and videos of us with a GoPro at different photo spots. We were a little late for our appointment, but they were understanding, which we appreciated! Thanks to them, we were able to enjoy our first snorkeling experience in Gili Trawangan. I highly recommend this place for snorkeling! Haha.

Had such a great time snorkelling with these guys! 🐢🤿💙 Ari and the other guide with us in the morning were both amazing. My partner had such a good time in the water, we saw heaps of turtles and got some really great photos too. We also went out again in the afternoon with Agus and had another great session. The coral was beautiful and we even saw a turtle right near the shore just as my partner was about to get out of the water! Everyone was really friendly and helpful and we had such a good experience overall. Would definitely recommend!

Fantastic experience. Everything was perfect as described. We saw the turtles, and the guide was very patient in finding the right moments to take fantastic photos. Then we saw the statues in Gili Meno and another spot to see corals and clownfish. Finally, we ate grilled fish on the beach in Gili Meno. They even showed us the baby turtles. What can I say? One of the best experiences of my life, a must-do if you come to the Gilis.

I inquired about a last-minute schedule change the day before my reservation, and they readily accommodated me! Communication was quick and easy via WhatsApp, and they were waiting for me at the meeting point sent through the app. 'Captain' and 'Joe' prioritized safety and provided excellent snorkeling assistance. Both were incredibly kind and made the tour very comfortable! I enjoyed a private tour that was much cheaper than the resort-affiliated tours. Highly recommend! ^^7

We had an amazing snorkeling tour with Win and Ivan, we started at 6:30am and saw a lot of different fish and turtles and Ivan took amazing photos and videos of us. If it's your first time snorkling and you have some anxiety about it don't worry, the guys are experts and can also provide a life jacket or a doughnut. Only small drawback is the snorkeling equipment (some water gets inside the glasses) so if you can, bring your own. At Gili Meno beach we took some drone phootage as well, it's beautiful and we had the beach for ourselves. We definitely recommend the experience and the private half day tour with Ivan and Win!
