St Stephen’s Cathedral is the spiritual heart of Vienna and landmark in the city centre. To fully appreciate its history, it is highly recommended to purchase the all inclusive ticket. This provides access to key areas, including the Dom Museum Wien, the catacombs, the worship area of the cathedral, and both the North and South Towers. The catacombs can only be visited as part of a guided tour. At the scheduled time, a staff will gather visitors and lead the group underground, where you can see the coffins of priests and the remains of those buried beneath the cathedral. The South Tower is physically demanding, as it requires climbing a long and narrow staircase. In contrast, the North Tower is accessible by lift and leads to an outdoor viewing platform. One important point to note is the strict timing for entry into the worship area of the cathedral. We missed our slot by just ten minutes and were not allowed to enter, so it is essential to check the schedule carefully.
Beautiful Church . we purchased an all inclusive tictkets. We went up to North ans South towers. also Thw Katacombs area which gave me chills. iIt s a must visti place.
The all inclusive ticket allows you to visit the whole cathedral including the tower and catacombs. Collection is at the dom museum on the right side of the church. Which is also included.
overall experience was good. go to the dom museum and collect your ticket a day in advance. You can use the ticket over the period of many days, so you don’t have to do everything at once. Catecombs is every 30 minutes, starting from 10 am. The cathedral is nice. The north tower is via lift and the south tower is 343 steps, if you are healthy venture else the north tower has better views. The Dom Museum is also good, but carry 2 or 1 euro coin to deposit your bags. It’s for all museums. You get your euro back once you open the locker.
Magnificent view of Vienna from the top of the towers! Catacombs can be a bit claustrophobic and creepy but definitely worth it. I got the all-inclusive ticket which was worth it as the cathedral only takes cash payment.
a must visit attraction in Vienna. the underground tomb is so special as well. but museum was so so, can skip it if you are rushing to other place.
First, visit the museum next door. During the visit, you will be given tickets to the church. After entering with the tickets, visit the interior first, then go out and enter the South Tower and North Tower. Only the North Tower has an elevator, so remember to wear comfortable walking shoes, because the South Tower requires 67 meters of stairs, and my feet were almost broken.
I suddenly wanted to go here that day, so I bought it in the morning and could use it directly after having Demel breakfast. I needed to go to the dom museum counter to exchange the physical ticket and then I could use the mobile phone guide inside the church. It was worth a visit.
