What to expect
At 5:00 AM, your driver will pick you up from your hotel in Jakarta for a trip to Carita beach on the west coast. After breakfast upon arrival, you will board a boat for a 1.5-hour cruise to Krakatoa volcano. Upon reaching Krakatoa, you will start climbing the volcano’s child peak, which usually takes about an hour. The scenery offers stunning views of the ocean, green vegetation, and red volcanic rocks. You will then sail to Rakata Island, known for its Legon Cabe coral reefs, just a short 20-minute boat ride away. Here, you can enjoy snorkeling with beautiful views of Anak Krakatoa’s peak in the distance. Lunch will be served on the beach of Rakata Island. Afterwards, you will cruise back to Carita, arriving around 4:30 PM, and then head back to Jakarta, concluding the tour.

Absolutely amazing experience. Great driver and guide. We had a wonderful day exploring the volcano and then snorkelling. We saw some coral and fish. Delicious food was provided and vegetarian too at our request.
Visiting an active volcano island is a rare and unforgettable experience, definitely worth the trip. However, transportation is a significant issue—it takes 11 hours round trip from Jakarta. Fortunately, the private car was very comfortable; otherwise, it would have been unbearable. When disembarking on the volcano island, the water can reach your knees, so it is recommended to wear shorts. As there are no trees on the volcano island, it is advisable to take adequate sun protection measures or bring a parasol.

A great experience, and highly recommended. Having lunch on the beach on Krakatoa itself was an unexpected bonus. You might want to take earplugs for the boat trip - those engines are loud.
Amazing day out seeing krakatau and the surrounding islands. A very long day with wonderful guides to support us. Would recommend to anyone 10/10
