The location is good. 10-15 minute walk to Old Town and Morning Market. Room is a little small for two people but for the price range, it’s fair. The bus stop which we took from Meitetsu (2 hours and 40 minutes from Nagoya) is just a 5 minute walk. No shoes are allowed inside the room and the premises except for some parts of the lobby and front desk. Breakfast which was served buffet style is decent with a good local and western selections. Staff are polite and generally helpful. The housekeepers we encountered always greet us in the corridors. One exception was the lady front desk staff on our departure day. She wasn’t very approachable and didn’t smile. must not be a morning person. Be sure to check out the Onsen on the 13th floor. I recommend going early before they close at 10am (they reopen after lunch I think) or before they close to avoid the crowd. There is a separate Men’s and women’s area. Overall a good stay at a good location.

This hotel is so nice! Booked this on the same day because my other plans fell through but Takayama is a nice alternative. Location is great, staff are nice, and hotel has so many perks! Onsen is *chef's kiss*! Too bad was not able to try the private onsen due to long line but the outdoor onsen is awesome!
