Fantastic location, walking distance to kenroken garden and castle park. Twin room was spacious and beds were comfortable. Private elevator to onsen which was very good. Buffet breakfast was high quality, relaxing and staff were friendly and had good English. Checkin was trouble free and onsite parking, for a fee, was not a problem. Hotel had an older elegant vibe with nightly musical recitals in the foyer. Staff were great in all areas. Overall highly recomended and would definitely stay again.

The check in person we had was not super nice. We took a basic room but that should not result in a snotty attitude by a clerk, for heaven’s sake. I mean we are guests! And we are patronizing your establishment. The others at the desk were much nicer. The vibe of the place is a bit stuffy and the decor is quite tired. The onsen was nice and another guest was kind to help show me where to change and put my things.

Location is very convenient beside the castle and <10 minutes to geisha district The furniture are probably outdated (early 90s) but room are big. Breakfast very rich and with good combination of asian and western food The free access hot spring is absolutely a must!
