Good
The hotel is very large, an impressive, a bit rundown, but still very nice. Hot springs are not tattoo friendly. There is a strong sulfur smell in the entire town because of the hot springs.

Fantastic

One of the best place to experience outdoor onsen at 1800m up in the mountain. Not a lot to do outside winter season if you do not drive. The surrounding is beautiful and an hour drive away from the Snow Monkey Park.

Staff don’t speak any English- I had issues with the fridge in my room and it was impossible to get somebody to come have a look. The restaurant is more like a school canteen, although the food is tasty. The whole place is in a desperate need of a refurb, although the onsen is beautiful and the views are scenic.

Great

Solo stay

The best part of the Manza Prince Hotel is the view of the outdoor onsen and the proximity to the skiing area. The breakfast and dinner buffet are good, but not great. The hotel is getting a bit old, but overall still pretty comfortable.

Hotel is rather old.too.No english speaking staff, nevertheless helpful. One young chinese trainee was great help interpreting for us Mid Dec is too early for a full enjoyment of the stay.Only 1 slope opened for ski, only 1 restaurant open for dining beside the buffet cafe.Quite dissapointd Guest to note the hotel bus only run 1 trip per day, the taxi from Karuizawa station would cost approx.Yen 25k to hotel. Ski in /out convenient Great outdoor onsen.

Great Onsen. Would be good during ski season (located next to runs). At the price we paid we expected business hotel level room. It’s what we got. Small room. Poor heating/ventilation control. Unit bath. Tiny TV.
