As a foreigner traveling solo, I purchased a tour for convenience and to see everything. I bought the tour during a promotional period.
A week before the trip, staff sent an email with contact information.
The afternoon before the trip, the guide, Ah Yang, sent a message via WeChat with the time and location for boarding the bus. That evening, another staff member contacted me regarding pick-up from hotels within Chengdu city limits.
On the day of the trip, pick-ups started at 4:40 AM to take customers to the bus departure point. The bus left at 6:00 AM, arriving at Bipeggou at 10:00 AM.
I gave my passport to the guide to purchase group tickets to the park, including the bus and shuttle car, round trip to 2 locations for 130 yuan, paid via WeChat or Alipay.
The guide recommended seeing the park from bottom to top. Before entering the park, the guide added me on WeChat to send the QR code for boarding the shuttle car. There was 5 hours of sightseeing time, including bus and shuttle car rides and walking. Total travel time on the bus and shuttle car was about 70-80 minutes. You have to depart from the highest point no later than 2:20 PM to catch the bus back to Chengdu which leaves at 3:40 PM and stops at a Tibetan village for 20 minutes before heading straight back to Chengdu.
The guide spoke Chinese. Use a translation app, WeChat, or have English-speaking tour members help with translation.
The tour does not include food. Bring your own or buy it at the attractions, but the price will be higher.
