Things to do in Gifu Prefecture

Our tour guide Xi was nice, organised and gave good tips during the tour of where to go and what to try. His recommendations were spot on especially the egg pudding in Shiragawa. Get in early to get the original pudding to avoid disappointment. We managed to still get the coffee and custard and they were delicious! It snowed and was magical. Don't forget to wear appropriate footwear as sleet and water can get into your sneakers, otherwise we had the best day!

I was awe-struck on the trip. My trip was led by Miss Amy, and she is a very kind and cheerful guide. She is both very informative by giving us pictures of the map ahead of time and laying out what to explore ahead of time. She was also very considerate to us tourist, and was touched by her acts of personal kindess to my family. She made us feel welcome at the locations we visited. Moreover, she cooperated with the bus driver cordially and thanked the bus driver for his hard work. We also expressed our gratitude to the bus driver for his part in the trip at the end of the trip. Overall, I would say that the trip was worth it.

Love the trip experience. We had enough time to explore and visits the 2 places on the tour. we and the kids had fun, our tour guide was also very informative and making sure everyone was on time and know where we are going..!

This tour is one of our favorite parts during our trip. Our tour guide, Bara-san, gave clear instructions through and through and was proactive in reaching out to us to make sure we’re aware of bus parking location, etc. Takayama, was a beautiful, quiet place. The hida beef lunch was tasty. Shirakawa-go, was wonder! In my opinion, this tour saves you time and hassle :)

My mom and I joined this tour on a rainy day, which made the temperature extra cold, but it was still an overall good experience. Shirakawa-go (the UNESCO site) was still ok to explore and, since I'm from a tropical/no-snow country, I got to "enjoy" little puddles of snow around the place. Our tour guide, Lily, was accommodating and had clear instructions, so the whole trip felt smooth and hassle-free. Also, please do try the award-winning pudding shop Shirakawago Purin No Le while you’re there. I got the matcha and chocolate flavors, and both were so good. Overall, a great day trip and worth it (despite the rainy weather).

Starting with a change of meeting point, you will be notified by E-mail, but it's near the original meeting point. The guide will take us to Takayama old town and Shirakawago as stated in the details. Everything is on time as scheduled. The guide speaks multiple languages, is easy to understand, and it's very convenient to come on this one-day trip.

This was a great trip to visit Takayama and Shirakawa. The tour guide John Lee is friendly and provided helpful tips on options where to eat and visit. He also shared the history of these two places. The trip well organised and all on schedule. The driver is friendly and safe driving.

Guides were very knowledgeable about the area and even the driver can speak English. It was snowing during our visit. The time given to explore the area was just nice, not too long or too short. The agent was also very helpful to accommodate to our dietary requirements. Recommended.

the view was beautiful and the kids had fun playing with snow at the top. should cater for half a day at least. there is also a foot onsen at the first stop so do soak your feet after playing in the snow.
