Chiang Mai Wat Phra That Doi Suthep Half-Day Cultural Tour

Since it was my first time in Chiang Mai, I couldn't miss Doi Suthep Temple, so I joined a Klook tour. I was very relieved that I could confirm the detailed schedule by email from the time I made the reservation until the day of the tour. On the day of the tour, the guide, who was fluent in English, Chinese, and Thai, was very considerate of us Japanese and kindly explained everything in easy English. I really enjoyed the tour.

Tour guide Huang was very attentive in explaining the history of Doi Suthep Temple and Chiang Mai University to enhance his knowledge. The top floor of the temple offers a distant view of Chiang Mai, and many tourists take photos. The university has beautiful scenery, and there are many places for shopping. Since it is close to the Loy Krathong Festival, there are many places for shopping on campus.

The tour guide was a really nice lady, but there’s some other people in the tour who were always late and which made this half day tour was delayed.

The cable car to the temple is more like a lift. Temple is grand. Bhubing palace is more like a botanic garden, nice to walk around.

Before the trip, they will proactively ask whether you need a Chinese or English tour guide via the communication software, which is very considerate. We arrived at the hotel on time on the day, the tour guide gave a detailed introduction, and took the initiative to ask if we needed help taking photos, and his photography skills were good! However, the itinerary is relatively simple and may seem a bit ordinary.

The tour guide's Chinese is excellent! If you're traveling independently in Chiang Mai, I highly recommend scheduling this activity in the first few days. In addition to explaining the content of Wat Phra That Doi Suthep and Chiang Mai University, the tour guide also cares about whether everyone has other questions. I asked a lot of questions about the Lantern Festival, haha. Of course, during the actual tour, the guide's explanation was really attentive. Because each traveler spends a different amount of time looking at things, the guide fully explained the stories of each location to each person. Overall, I really enjoyed it. Wat Phra That Doi Suthep is beautiful and magnificent... a very popular place of worship.

This half-day tour is relaxing, with enough time to stroll around the university and visit the temples. Our guide, Mr. Li, was professional and provided thorough explanations. If you still have energy after the tour, you can ask the driver to stop at Maya Lifestyle Shopping Center to continue your shopping.

It was a very comfortable and relaxing itinerary. We were picked up at the hotel on time at around 8 o'clock. We first went to Chiang Mai University for a lake tour, and then went to Doi Suthep Doi Suthep Temple. The tour guide is friendly and professional, and the explanations are clear!
