APR. 19, 2026 🛤️ Jinguashi ✖️ Gold Museum Traveling with the Textbook: Fourth Grade Social Studies… Finally (◐‿◑) We started at the Golden Waterfall. Although Jingzai initially wanted to drive right past it, You proactively suggested, "Aren't we going to get out and take pictures?" Mom instantly understood this was a signal to "take photos," so the whole family immediately pulled over. Next, we visited the "Four-Joined-Houses": Looking at the layout of the Japanese dormitories, we discussed how people lived and went about their daily lives there back then. We also got to touch the "220-kilogram gold brick" with our own hands. The weight and value were astonishing‼️ Then came the important "gold panning experience." After watching the instructional video, the siblings put it into practice and felt completely immersed in the experience. Finally, the whole family put on hard hats and became miners 👷, walking into the damp, dark Benshan No. 5 Tunnel. Inside the tunnel, there was the sound of dripping water and a sense of oppression, but also gold—shhh 🤫 Turning the words from a textbook into the scenery before our eyes, the biggest reward wasn't gaining more knowledge, but seeing the sparkle in the children's eyes—it was a surprise and connection that transformed "I've read about it" into "I've seen it, I've felt it" ♥️
Great experience tracing the history of the local gold mine. But also all the activity that resulted from it around Jiufen (businesses, real estate, artistic, jet set also a little with the best dancers at the Theater and the socialites coming to see them etc etc). Well thought out museum with a quest for stamps from each site to fill and collect.
You can buy your tickets on Klook first, it’s cheaper and very easy to use, just show the QR code and they will stamp your hand. Most exhibitions are included and there is plenty of parking available. Because it was a non-holiday, the space in the park felt very large and convenient, and you can learn about the history of Jinguashi, as well as the various minerals and different appearances of gold. The Gold Museum allows everyone to understand the hard historical experience of mining in Jinguashi. There are several small exhibition halls to visit. The mine experience costs 50 yuan and is very worthwhile. The staff is very friendly and the environment is large, suitable for slow experience.
wanted to try wash the gold, but guess we were too late, hence could not get the chance to try it. nevertheless, can go and have a walk there. hike there.
The ticket price is very cheap, and you can learn about the historical stories of Jinguashi, as well as various ores and gold with different appearances. The most impressive thing among them is that the oversized gold nugget is priced at 450 million, and it is very generous. It’s open to everyone to touch. Even if you don’t have the money to buy it, it’s nice to be able to touch it. I don’t know how many museums can be built for this price. The ticket price is the same as on-site, but you can use your previous points to redeem it, and you can also get points by writing your experience. In this regard, it’s still very cheap!
Very easy to use, just show the qr code, they will stamp your hand. most exhibitions are included, except the gold collection experience ($100tw) and walking in the mines tunnel ($50tw)
You only need to show the QR Code at the ticket gate, and the staff will stamp it on your hand, and you can enter and exit each exhibition hall at will, which is very convenient. There is a free VR experience in the Dadi Pavilion. Just go to the second floor of the Dadi Pavilion to fill in your name and make a reservation, and you can experience it at the designated time. In addition, visiting the shrine requires walking up a flight of stairs, which can be slippery on rainy days, but you can see a good view from the top.
Take a picture with the 220kg gold nugget and be sure to eat the miner's lunch box. Delicious. There were grandfather trees everywhere on the way up, and the scenery was very nice. I feel healthy because the weather is good. Touch gold and hit the jackpot!!!
