Tokyo Full-Day Mount Omuro, Izu Cactus Park & Jogasaki Coast Tour

Long drive along the coastline to Omuro, scenic and car was comfortable, ¥1000 pp for a cable ride to go up Omuro Mountain, fog rolled in so couldn’t see much, it was very chilly at the top so I brought a T-shirt for ¥3800, not much of a choice up there so just bring an extra shirt or jacket. Our guide, Wei, was very nice and accommodating, we managed to communicate through text on WhatsApp. we had about 2 1/2 hours to check out Omuro and the zoo, but it wasn’t clear, so some people had only half an hour to check out the zoo. The entrance fee of the zoo was ¥2800 on weekdays, save your cable ticket and get ¥100 off zoo fee. so much to see at the zoo so I would try to spend more time at the zoo, then drove to Jogasaki, walked along the jagged rocks and crossed a small bridge, which looked bigger and different in the ad. Then went to the marine market for 30 minutes, I did buy a lot only to realize it’s cheaper at the regular local stores. good trip to get away from city

an amazing day! loved the nice van and small tour. loved the ocean drive most the way. loved the ride up the big green mountain and the walk at the top, then don’t miss feeding the Capybaras at the zoo. also do the boat ride to the lemur island. they jump on you and you feed them. eat there is you can or get food to go at some point. it’s a packed day. we took a train for a ocean view (but. it needed because our whole day was driving along the coast), then we went to this amazing area with coastal rocks and a suspension bridge. great photos! then finally a stop at a fishing village to grab a bite or some ice cream. our driver Taka took great care of us. this was way worth the money and a really beautiful day. highly recommend.

We had such an amazing day exploring the Izu area! Visiting Mount Omuro was such a unique experience with incredible views, and Izu Shaboten Zoo was so fun with all the animals and cacti. The scenery at Jogasaki Coast was absolutely stunning, and walking across the Kadowaki Suspension Bridge was both exciting and beautiful. Our driver/tour guide was so helpful and kind, making everything smooth and stress-free. Highly recommend this tour!

an experience to remember - all of it - mount Omuro, the train ride, the suspension bridge, walking along the coastal back to the bus - beautiful scenery. Mt Fuji was clearly seen from Mt Omuro. Edward, our guide was the best - very informative and helpful.

I highly recommend the Tokyo-Izu day trip. The scenery is incredibly beautiful and breathtaking, on a completely different level from what you find domestically. It was a real treat for my eyes! The only downside is that the journey is a bit long, and with traffic, you'll spend a fair amount of time on the road. Our tour guide, Yaya, provided excellent service and explained the history of each scenic spot. Overall, I highly recommend it, but it's best to avoid traveling on weekends!

I had my recent trip to IZU Peninsula. Olivia was our guide, who was very sweet, accommodating and happy go Lucky. Lucky, we could see Fuji san on the way. She was transparent with the pros and cons of picking up a place. She accommodated all the request. Despite leaving at 7 AM, I could not make it to the capybara zoo/cactus Garden as I chose the chair car to mount Omuro. 40 minutes is not sufficient for the zoo. however, I would definitely like to come back and stay for a night in Izu in future as I love the peace and calm in that area. the itinerary was good and luckily, I was able to see a few cherry blossoms. how do you recommend, but probably in the month of May on June when colours are brighter and Mount Ormuro is green. 😃 I really hope I get to see Olivia as my Tour guide in future trips from GogoDay.

May 3, 2026: It was too crowded during Golden Week, but thankfully the driver took a detour to avoid traffic. Our group of eight had great weather and made it to the top of Mount Omuro ⛰️. We saw the capybaras, and my girlfriend said she really liked them.

Although the meeting time was 7 o'clock, the advantage of driving early is that there won't be any traffic jams. The driver and tour guide are the same person. Because it's a small group, we were in a 10-seater van, which was quite comfortable. The driver speaks Mandarin, is very nice and polite, and deserves praise. I hope to meet him again on future tours. He's far better than the drivers and tour guides from the previous two days. I really don't want to meet those two again, especially that dangerous driver who turns his head to talk while driving. Seeing that, I was speechless. If this tour was in May, it would be lush green, but now it's greenish-yellow. However, I think it's worth seeing, and you can also see the view of Mount Fuji from afar. Riding the special train is just okay, because after taking the train in Kansai to see the autumn leaves, I think you can skip this one. Watching the sea from the train is even better. We ate the famous Splendid Alfonsino (Kinmedai) sushi in the fishing village, which was very fresh and super affordable.

we took a mini bus and the driver was really safe the entire ride, especially during the long jams of about 3hr in the morning and 4-5hr in the evening. unfortunately we werent able to visit the zoo and ito marine town due to the expected jam. but our time at the mountain and the ocean views more than made up for it. the drive along the coastal views were really scenic as well. and we were lucky to be able to spot mount fuji too!
