Reviews
The guide and driver are very kind. They don't speak Korean, but they do speak English, and if you install a translation app like ChatGPT, you can communicate with them sufficiently. The itinerary and explanations were great, and the meals were good too. 100% satisfaction. We traveled with a 3-year-old child. It was the first half-day trip, so the child was a little tired, but when we asked at the hotel, they said they enjoyed it. The child fell asleep during the latter part of the itinerary, and the guide watched over the sleeping child, so my wife and I were able to enjoy the final course. A glass-bottom boat is not included, but you can still ride one. Whenever they introduce local specialties, they slow down the car to explain in detail. When the itinerary was over, we told them we were going to Don Quijote after being dropped off at the ANA hotel, and they even told us the bus route in front of the hotel, so we were able to get there comfortably. I would definitely use them again in the future. I recommend this for family trips without renting a car or doing any strenuous activities.
At the remote island terminal pick-up point, there are many people waiting for other tours, so it's a good idea to remember the name of the tour you are participating in. This time, a seasoned traveler (myself) and a novice traveler (my companion) participated for the first time. My novice traveler companion thought that a Klock staff member would come to pick them up, and no matter how many times I explained the handling company at the time of booking and the operating company on site, they couldn't understand... The guide had a mini sign with the letters "H◯S" on it, which seemed to confuse them even more. The bus tour on this fine weather day was very fulfilling and satisfying. We toured the recommended spots in an organized manner among the many tourist spots on the island, and the guidance on the national highways along the way, the roots of Onisasa, the points where spectacular views spread out, and information about Ishigaki beef and pork were all timed perfectly, interesting, and humorous, making the time fly by. At Kabira Bay, I was impressed by the transparency of the sea on the glass boat, and I also encountered four turtles and was able to see them breathing up close. It was said to be a rare sight, and it was a very pleasant experience. At several observatories in key locations, I made sure to imprint the superb views in my mind, but after the glass boat ride at Kabira Bay, I really wanted to drink a smoothie, so I forgot to go to the important observatory. I'm sure it was beautiful. If you want to go to the observatory and see the spectacular view at Kabira Bay, I highly recommend that you visit the observatory as well. Smoothies are good, but first the observatory.
First, I'd like to thank the Klook platform team for their professional and timely service, which helped answer my questions. As a first-time user, I had a great experience! The day trip was also very cost-effective! Because transportation on Ishigaki Island is relatively inconvenient and attractions are spread out, a day trip is the best option! However, I wish there had been more time allocated for Kabira Bay. After taking the glass-bottom boat, there wasn't enough time to visit the observation deck, which was quite a shame!
Although the tour guide spoke Japanese, she used cards to display the meeting times. She was also very polite and helpful to the group members. The scenery at the attractions was beautiful.
Unfortunately, the weather wasn't great; there was only a little bit of sunlight at Kabira Bay, so I didn't get to take many nice photos.
This is a good off-season activity to avoid being cold in the water, unlike the many other activities offered...! Everything is in Japanese, but the guide provided documents in English, which helped us understand the main points. She gave us 2 demonstrations of local songs accompanied by a local instrument that she played very well while we were on the bus. It was a nice surprise! The food was excellent (especially the Okinawa seaweed!). We had enough time for each stop, especially at Kabira Bay, where it is possible to take a glass-bottom boat. For my part, I enjoyed the beach with its birds and sunshine while sipping a fresh mango juice. The pottery is magnificent, and the potter is passionate from generation to generation; it was a pleasure to chat with him!
The itinerary was great, but I don't understand Japanese, so I had to settle for just looking around the island. The guide and driver were friendly, but the lack of communication was a drawback. It would have been nice if they had explained things in English even a little. However, the bus condition and the structure of the itinerary were good enough.
We really enjoyed the guided tour of Ishigaki island that covers many of the main tourist spots on the island. It is good as an overall tour, or as a preview of places where one might want to return later via a car rental to explore further. We even had enough time at many locations for a quick side hike to explore neighborhoods or beaches that weren't officially on the tour.
A great experience! My hotel was one of the pick-up/drop-off points, which was very convenient. The tour included visits to multiple attractions and a simple lunch (noodle dish). The tour guide provided enthusiastic explanations in Japanese, but unfortunately, there wasn't any real-time translation available.
It's at least 1,500 yen cheaper offline than online.
