In fact, it is a traditional temple dedicated to Confucius, similar to the Confucius Temple in China. However, it is still very helpful for understanding Vietnam's history and culture.

booked through klook for fear of getting scammed or caught in a hectic crowd of tourists at the temple (and we wanted to see the hanoi opera house anyway, though it was under renovation). but seeing the temple crowd was very small in September, i think i would just buy the tickets directly next time as collecting the tickets from the kiosk near opera house just adds unnecessary transport cost (but was a smooth process otherwise). the temple itself is great, a lot more extensive than i ever expected as it is a beautiful and complete museum on its own with lots of clear historical information in vietnamese, english and french and a bonus small local art exhibition. also, there looked like there were materials for possible calligraphy or woodblock printing in one section but i'm not sure how i would've signed up to try it, if available. anyway, still lots to read and explore so take your time with it!

our overall experience here was superb, we got our tickets and head in the temple. it was calm and peaceful.

Not much to see really..but I kind of enjoyed it. If you like history, you’d probably like this one.

it's a nice to see for a piece of history. the place may have been really beautiful during it's prime. When we arrived, workers were replacing roof tiles and planting. i hope the smaller structures are maintained too. there was a nice exhibit when we went to the place. i think it would be romantic to see the place in the evening.

it was a must to visit. Beautiful temple that's nice and easy to walk around. U can buy tickets there with cash only or buy from Klook but collect the tickets from the Opera House City sightseeing bus ticket office.
