This is a series of itineraries that cleverly connect natural scenery, cultural history, and local life, starting from the city and gradually entering the unique romance and vibrant atmosphere of Kyushu.

  • Gather in Hakata in the morning, embark on a light journey, starting from the city and gradually entering the unique romance and vibrant atmosphere of Kyushu.

{Itinerary A: Strawberry Picking & Yanagawa River Cruise} ① Kyushu’s largest POO strawberry farm, with eleven popular strawberry varieties, easy high-trellis picking, and 60 minutes to enjoy the sweetness of spring. ② Head to Yanagawa, the “City of Water,” and take a Donko wooden boat cruise. Willow trees cast shadows on both banks, and cherry and peach blossoms reflect on the water, creating a romantic and tranquil scene. ③ After disembarking, visit “Ohana,” the villa of the Yanagawa domain lord Tachibana family, where the blend of Japanese and Western architecture and the famous garden are captivating. Lunch recommendation: Yanagawa Unagi (eel) rice, a century-old restaurant’s traditional steaming process, where eel, sauce, and rice are perfectly integrated. ④ In the afternoon, check in at Koiki Shrine, where heart-shaped ema (prayer plaques) and omamori (charms) are abundant, and gentle wishes accompany you. Finally, arrive at Tosu Premium Outlets for free shopping, easily ending the day’s itinerary.

{Itinerary B: Dazaifu Kimono Stroll & Yanagawa River Cruise Experience} ① Arrive in Dazaifu, change into an exquisite kimono at a professional shop (at your own expense, paid on-site), and embark on a ritualistic journey through the ancient capital, strolling along the thousand-year-old ancient approach. ② Enter Kyushu’s largest Tenmangu Shrine, make a wish in front of the sacred plum tree “Tobiume,” and experience the profound heritage of the “God of Learning” and the ancient charm of the red bridge. ③ Taste the famous “Umegae Mochi” on the approach, soft, glutinous, and sweet. It is recommended to check in at Ichiran Ramen Dazaifu’s limited edition “Five-Grid Bowl” to add to your “passing” good luck. ④ Visit Nyoirin-ji Temple, and listen to the crisp and healing summer sounds under the corridor of thousands of wind chimes filled with prayers. ⑤ After the experience, return the kimono directly on the bus, travel light to Tosu Outlets, and start a shopping spree with brand discounts in the open-air shopping area.

This is a series of itineraries that cleverly connect natural scenery, cultural history, and local life, starting from the city and gradually entering the unique romance and vibrant atmosphere of Kyushu.

Review for: Itinerary A | Strawberry Picking & Yanagawa River Cruise Experience

This was my first time on a one-day tour, and our guide, Thomas (Zheng Ouming), was very friendly and took great care of everyone in the group. The day before, I used WeChat to ask if I could bring my luggage on the bus, and he responded quickly. Although the strawberry season was nearing its end, we still found some super large strawberries. The boat experience on Yanagawa River was highly recommended! The boatman was very entertaining. The unagi (eel) rice at Yanagawa was delicious; I personally loved it. Koiki Shrine was great for photos, with wisteria flowers... 30 minutes might not be enough for those who love taking pictures. Tosu Premium Outlets had many discounts, and if you look carefully, you can find some great value-for-money items. The pick-up location was easy to find. I now have another option for future one-day tours.

This tour was great! we had a bit of rainy weather but we were still able to do the riverboat. The rain from last few days made the ninja (jump) bridge very tight but it was really fun. our guide Thomas was great and took photos for us as well

We thoroughly enjoyed this trip with its unique itinerary. Cico, our tour guide, was excellent and very helpful. She speaks multiple languages, including English and Chinese. She also assisted in securing our lunch at the unagi restaurant in Yanagawa. Some points for improvement: 1. While the bus was okay, it seemed a bit old. It lacked cup holders for bottles and organizers at the back of the seats. Additionally, the seat I was in didn’t have enough legroom due to the wheel placement. As this itinerary requires a lot of traveling, having a more comfortable bus should be considered. 2. I believe it would be best to separate English and non-English speaking guests into different batches, if possible, so that the tour guide doesn’t have to explain everything twice. This can be time-consuming, and I feel some items may not have been fully discussed in English due to time constraints.

We had an amazing time on our tour! Our guide, Aida, was incredibly helpful, accommodating, and a joy to be with. She showed us around with great enthusiasm, making every stop both informative and fun. It was wonderful to see so many beautiful spots today, and we truly appreciated how well the tour was organized. It was our first time joining a tour in Fukuoka—and we’re so glad we did! The experience gave us a deeper appreciation of the city’s rich culture, history, and hidden gems that we might have missed on our own. Aida’s friendly nature and knowledge made the trip even more enjoyable. We highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Fukuoka. Thank you for a fantastic experience!

It was raining heavily when we left Hakata. We got to the strawberry farm and tried all-you-can-eat strawberries of different varieties (extra charge). They were really sweet! It was delicious~ Then we went to Liuzhou to experience rowing. Although it was drizzling, it did not affect the experience. The rowing master was even singing. Then we ordered eel rice for lunch. Finally, we arrived at Dazaifu. The tour guide introduced the history and learned more about the characteristics of the shrine. We should pay homage to the god of learning and touch the sacred cow more to make ourselves smarter. What a great experience, the tour guide was very soft-spoken and gentle, it was a really happy experience.

I highly recommend this tour. You can pick strawberries (they taste great!). Our guide, Zhang Dong, was very kind and introduced us to Fukuoka's attractions and restaurants. He also asked if anyone needed to use the restroom at each new attraction, which showed how attentive he was! His driving skills were excellent, and his voice was very gentle, so I could sleep soundly on the bus 😆. On the day of our return, a fellow traveler wasn't feeling well. Remembering that Zhang Dong said we could ask him for help with anything, I contacted him immediately to ask if he could book a car to the airport. He replied immediately, saying he would arrange for a colleague from his company to contact us, and we were able to get to the airport smoothly! He even followed up to check on our situation afterward. I am very grateful for Zhang Dong's help and will contact him again next time I go to Fukuoka. I hope to organize a day trip with him!
