Minokichi Honten Takeshigerou, one of the eight fresh fish restaurants designated by the Kyoto government in the Edo period, was established in 1716 and continues to be a leading restaurant in the Kyoto cuisine industry. In 1950, Minoyoshi moved to its current location and was renamed Takeshiguro in 1992, meaning "restaurant with a lush bamboo forest". Every room in the restaurant has a Zen-like view of the Japanese bamboo garden, adding to the elegant and tranquil atmosphere.
