What to expect
Okonomiyaki, Japan’s famous savory pancakes, come in two main varieties: Osaka-style and Hiroshima-style. Osaka-style mixes ingredients into the batter, while Hiroshima-style layers the ingredients. In this class, you’ll make Hiroshima-style okonomiyaki with guidance from Otafuku, a company renowned for their okonomiyaki sauce since the 1950s. Learn about the dish’s history and master the technique of layering ingredients. Cook on a teppanyaki hotplate and enjoy your meal directly from it, following local tradition. Experiment with various Otafuku sauces, accommodating any dietary restrictions, and immerse yourself in Hiroshima’s culinary culture.
Reviews
What a wonderful experience, the personel was very helpful and patient explaining all the steps for making a Okonomiyaki. Our results were very delicious.
The class itself was great, extremely interactive and fun and the host was friendly and catered for all needs. I’m disappointed to now see that Klook has charged double, if not more, what it would have cost directly through the company. Do not book this class through here, go direct!!! Assumed I was getting a good deal through here and should have done more research. Don’t make the same mistake!
I had a wonderful experience! I would definitely recommend doing this experience.
an absolute must if you are visiting Hiroshima. had a fun time cooking, the staff were very friendly and helpful. best to book in advance due to can be booked out quick.
